Ref Watch

Refs, including tomorrow, for our last 32 domestic games:

Oliver -5.
Tierney - 4.
Taylor -4.
Friend - 3.
Moss - 3.
Marriner - 3.
Dean - 2.
Attwell - 2.
Atkinson - 2.
Jones - 1.
Bankes -1.
Scott - 1.
Coote - 1.

Oliver, Tierney and Taylor have had 37.5% of our last 32 domestic games. With Friend included, it's 50%. 21 refs have refereed a PL game this season, some are more inexperienced so you might expect they not get our game yet but we've not Pawson, Kavanagh etc. since before last March. The last game Kavanagh had was Wolves at the beginning of March and we've not had Pawson in 2021. In fact, we've not had him since the 1-1 draw at home to Liverpool where they got a very soft pen and then we got one via VAR that we missed but we were also denied another just before Liverpool got one themselves...Bit odd such an established ref has gone over a year without reffing us.

By contrast, the Dippers have had:

Taylor - 5.
Pawson - 4.
Dean - 3.
Tierney - 3.
Marriner - 3.
Oliver - 2.
Kavanagh - 2.
Moss - 2.
Attwell - 2.
Friend - 2.
Coote - 1.
England - 1.
Andy Madley - 1.
Atkinson - 1.

Taylor, Pawson, Dean and Tierney have had 47% of the Dippers games. Again odd that Pawson is good enough for 4 Dippers games, but none of ours. With 62 available games (2 head-to-heads), Taylor (9), Oliver (7), Tierney (7), Marriner (6) and Friend (5) have had 55% of City & Dippers games. Add in Dean (5) and it's 6 refs with 63% of the games. Given the decisions the 2 teams get, and the fact that someone established like Atkinson has 3 games in total, it's clear PGMOL have their preferred refs for the title race.

Maybe you'd say it's seniority, but I just happened to notice we're getting the same refs over and over again and it's not like our smaller games are being spread widely amongst the other refs for experience, the same refs are picking up the majority of our games on rotation and as I showed the other night, we're getting jack shit decisions wise whilst the Dippers are getting far better treatment.
As you point out.....Pawson shows something is not right . Have we complained about him ? I cant think of anything so it has to be down to corr... ergh game management*

Yes I agree but not enough to have him removed from our games. As Pannick shows in his stats, something is very strange.
Agree it's strange, but the club may have complained. We (as supporters) don't know what goes on behind the scenes, unless there are leaks. It may be that Pawson has declared himself to be a blue (must keep straight face) and can't referee us any more.
Anything is possible with PiGMOL. You can have a referee living in, say, Trafford, supporting a team in Trafford, but refereeing another team in Trafford on a regular basis. That's purely coincidental, of course, and not to be misconstrued in any way as anything other than pure coincidence.
To paraphrase the great Bard: It's a good job we're not Danish.

I was agreeing with your post until you say living in Trafford etc. That is just stupid, no credible organisation would be so stupid as to do that. If they did they would be open to accusations of favouratism and I am sure rival managers would highlight it, thereby getting the ref removed from that particular game.
