Ref Watch

Whichever way you look at it that was a stonewall penalty. Zouma made contact at least twice from behind and prevented Sterling getting a shot away. So Taylor is either incompetent or crooked as is whoever was sitting behind the VAR screen. There was a lot at stake for both teams and the result has been manipulated.
Absolutely. Shocking decision by the bent rag twat.

Taylor's integrity is in question every time he's allowed to ref a man city game, given that he was born in Wythenshawe and lives in Altrincham.

His record is very impressive for the rags and dippers, but less impressive when officiating city games.

I thought there was a rule where a ref was prevented from oficiating for teams on their doorsteps?

Impressive in that he has given both teams the necessary leg-up when needed?

Or go to the monitor. Won't be the first time he's fucked us over against Chelsea.
Yes can’t decide which was worse, yesterday’s penalty not given or the shocking decision not to send sideshow bob off when he took Sergio out, when he would have been through charging towards the goal and not even a booking or a free kick awarded!

Well played alty-fan. Keeps the 'title race' alive and the rags relevant for the TV product for another week.

Gave us a pen, Kun fucked it up, he wasn't going to give 2. Besides, Zouma had just made a perfect challenge on Raz a few minutes before so I think that played a part in his decision. It's VAR not calling it up that's the issue but they're a law unto themselves. We need transparency, but we also need to stop fucking about with team selection and penalties we do get.

Taylor was not in the right position to give or dismiss the penalty as Zouma was behind Sterling. VAR should of told Taylor to go have a look on the monitor with the side angle.

Exactly. Some ridiculous talk on here saying not giving a Penalty by Taylor was a terrible decision.

He was literally behind the play and even with the aid of the multiple camera angles and slo-mo its difficult to determine the touch, let alone in real time.

If there is to be criticism levelled its the person who decided it was not worthy of the ref taking another look.

Yer right, P, he was just gonna give us the one and cheat us out of t'other. Kavanagh gave that pen this afternoon for Poogba's theatricals. I wonder what he would have made of the hatchet job on Raheem yesterday.

I have a working theory that VAR doesn't overturn a decision when the ball doesn't go out of play for a while in fear of having to call play a long way back. If after Sterling was taken down the ball crossed the goal line I think VAR would have taken a more serious look at it.
