Ref Watch

I get why Thiago didn't get the 3rd yellow (Rodri's arm moves near him and the vibrations in the air must have sent him tumbling), but what on earth was the free kick to Mane for just before Foden rifles it in top bins?

And Tierney who has fucked us over twice v Dippers this season on VAR again for Dippers v Rags

Neither Taylor or Oliver have league games this weekend or involved so presumably they will be the two refs at the weekend. Looks like Oliver for us then.

I think a bit of perspective is needed here. The man with the whistle, looked at objectively, did ok yesterday. Sure he might have given a red or a second yellow but then again nothing was clear and obvious despite the outpouring of emotion on here. AT did not impact in any significant way the outcome of yesterday's game.
The arguments presented here that he would have sent off men in blue for the same transgressions is pure conjecture. As was the case in the first game we were marginally the better team but failed to win because of poor finishing and in yesterday's case two defensive lapses which cost us goals.
The media coverage is a more clear cut matter and a built in bias does appear to exist in favour of the reds and Micah is probably not the best tool to counter this.
Micah not the brightest. Bit harsh to call him a tool

So we're going to be fucked over

The way we pick up cards and the numerous occasions the ref turns a blind eye to similar opposition fouls is stark. Bernie got booked for a trip after the guy was past him. How many times did our players beat a Dipper and be on their way before being taken out, the only difference being no card. And in these games refs decide, I am convinced, that no one is going off wearing a red shirt. Had Bernie 'grounded' some other Dipper in a nothing foul he would be going! In high profile games with a world wide audience there are several addenda added to the LotG that don't apply in a League 2 mid-table encounter. And, of course, you have the assorted idiots and goons in the studio suggesting that the ref has spoiled the game by sending X off. The ref might 'spoil' the game but only by applying the LotG.
I disagree about Bernie being sent off. Like the anfield game, it was managed so that 11 v 11 had everyone watching at home, until the final whistle.
After yesterday I am pissed off. It is just becoming wwe. It is a product for a world audience and the PL need that product exciting.

Not a fan of Oliver at all, however, since the 5-2 defeat against Leicester we’ve won every match including at Anfield last season. It’s more likely to do with the fact we’re good enough that referees matter less but maybe he’s improving.
