Well Dan Burn was again busy hauling Laporte to the ground when Rodri scored.

Wasn’t even slightly subtle was it… what was the ref doing? Could have yellow carded Burn 4 or 5 times ! And he told the Ref to “fuck off” when he did warn him.

Sometimes I think these yellow cards are just for show. I remember a goalkeeper wasting time against City from the start. Near the end of the game the referee walked up to the goalkeeper and had a word, for a few minutes, helping him waste even more time.

I did laugh at Sterling being belly flopped twice by the same player and him only getting booked once for it.

A penalty can only be given if the wresting continues after the corner is taken.
Atwell might be a spineless clown but he can't ignore pushing and shoving before the ball is kicked so had to warn the defender concerned. I'm not sure even Newcastle players are stupid enough to continue holding opponents in the penalty area while the ball is in play.

If there's additional compelling evidence? Attwell doesn't look at 'the evidence' - he just refs according to the instructions with which he's been supplied, and then doesn't do that very well!
