Ref Watch

There is no world in which Bruno reaches that ball first if Rashford isn't there.
Tbh at first I thought fair enough it should stand which it did, but after watching it back after the match I'm now convinced rashford does interfere with the play of our defenders. Can't be arsed being angry about it now though its over and done with nothing is going to change it.

Arm out shielding Akanji.

Left foot back ready to shift the ball which puts Ederson in a set position ready to make an attempted save.

Not interfering though...nothing to see here...

@simon.. again.. explain this… what happens in that picture if Rashford is not there?

No idea but how many times has the offside law been ammended since then....at least once due to a goal we scored iirc (away at Villa?)

I think the lawmakers have turned a relatively simple rule into something completely baffling.

Watching the clip of the Liverpool game on here already shows the inconsistency of decisions within an hour of each other.

Anyone who has ever kicked a ball knows there are more ways to interfere with play than physically touching the ball or player.

Hopefully this decision and the Salah goal v Wolves forces a common sense amendment to the current law.

There would be a nationwide minute silence and fans would be forced to wear black armbands if Liverpool and United were on the receiving end of these decision.

Agreed..its baffling and inconsistent

if you are in the attacking half of the pitch you are intefering with play as far as Im concerned as it affects the position of any defending player

Never really been someone who has bought too much into the 'Agenda' theory, as it comes over as sour grapes to an extent.
However, after today I am dubious to say the least. The 'product' that is the Premier League certainly seemed to have an influence on that 'goal'. As the other Premier League/SKY poster boys are a little way off the pace perhaps this lot could be given a little 'assistance'!, as they are (as you point our) up there at the moment. No way was that goal ever not being allowed!
True, we weren't great, and we have lost to the Rags several times over the years(often deservedly so) both when we were shit and when we've been a great side in recent times.
Sure, we'll move on, City fans (especially us FOCs) have had loads of disappointments over the years, but today was one of those that seemed to leave a really bad taste in the mouth. It will be interesting to see how other 'controversial' decisions go in certain games for the rest of the season!!
I know I keep banging on about Scudamore's infamous 'strategic plan' comments, but the increase in dodgy decisions afterwards (that just get swept under the carpet), that seem to go favourably for their poster boy 'most important team' isn't a coincidence in my opinion.
