Ref Watch

That isn’t fair. He’s one of the best linesman in the world and has a medal for officiating in a World Cup Final to prove it.

He did precisely as he’s instructed to do. Correctly identified an offside. Delayed his flag until a potential goal scoring opportunity was complete and then raised his flag to advise the referee he thinks there was an offside. It’s not on him that the referee ignored that advice.
Yet in the first half he instantly raised his flag when Foden's toenail may have been offside, for which the the TV company failed to show us any evidence either way.

"Let's rattle the weasel's cage for his dishonest and worthless contribution.. Peter.."

Fucking hate that bloke with all my soul, like sincerely would like to spit in his face.

Can't forget the amount of times he actually fucked us over when he was an active ref too, especially versus Everton for some reason.

Now he's just a handsomely paid mouth piece for the cartel on BT. Lizard.
I think he had an agreement with the FA to ref the game any time we played Everton. He's always been an utter fucktard.

I remember watching Walton ref us at home versus Everton before we were decent, and although there was nothing riding on the game it was the most biased piece of officiating I have ever seen - strangely enough, not long after he was sent to America.

I remember the game mate. Was a shocker

0-2 (2010?)

I remember him booking Tevez within about 10 minutes.

Dodgy as fook that game.

I think the 0-2 was 09/10 and I'm sure Arteta scored for Everton.
There was also a 1-2 game he reffed the season after and iirc both were night matches.
In both he was bent as fuck, his favourite trick was giving the opposition free kicks in dangerous areas for nothing challenges.
Did he retire suddenly one mid season after he was exposed for something dodgy?

"He did precisely as he's instructed to do." Yes, instructed by Webb, maybe?

You just have to look at the clip circulating Twitter and other media. McCann is confronted by Fernandes and Rashford after he flagged for offside. After a brief discussion, Fernandes turns away with a smile on his face. This is before Attwell has spoken to McCann. McCann has already told Fernandes that the goal will stand.

Neither of us know what he said to Attwell, but my version is probably more credible than yours, which is to put the blame entirely on Attwell.

They are both equally culpable, as is VAR for not advising a screen review.

One of the cop outs is that it was a subjective decision. Really? No, not really.

This is an extract from Law 11. Rashford is offside probably on all four points. There is nothing subjective about this, he is offside as perfectly described in black and white.

Or there is this example, again from the Laws of the Game. This makes it quite clear that a player running towards the ball, preventing an opponent from being able to play the ball is offside.

This didn't boil down to a matter of opinion. It was offside according to the LOTG.
