Yep, there seem to have been a lot of seasons where a dodgy application of the rules penalises us only to see the rules changed a few weeks later. But don’t worry everyone, it ‘evens out over the season.’ Except when the change the rules to make sure it doesn’t. I remember a similar thing happening with handball a few seasons ago.

The game was televised on ITV so sky can't show the incident as they don't have the rights.

Webb said last night he was surprised Coote wasn't advised to go to the monitor to overturn the decision and admitted like the Fernandes goal the ref got the decision wrong.

Didn't mention if the refs were punished though. I suspect not as both reffed or were involved in VAR the following week
