Referees’ Performances | 2024/2025

Yep, this travesty will be swept away and all that will be remembered is that Palace "did a Wimbledon" and won a match in which they were underdogs to lift the FA Cup for the first time in their history.

Meanwhile, when we managed to beat them 5-2 in the league, please can everybody remember that it could/should have been 3-0 to them if it hadn't been for a very, very tight offside call.

Fuck the media wind-up merchant mouth-pieces and fuck the cheating corrupt PGMOL wankers.

This "sport" in the UK is as riddled with corruption as any you will ever find anywhere in the world.

I have no love for football any more, it's gone too far up its own arse for me to be wasting emotions and energy on. It's a fucking joke.

Shearer's assessment of it live was an abomination. No fucking way the **** thought the ball was going way from Haaland. He completely invented a different scene to suit himself. It was an absurd take on what was happening.

Looking forward to the bullshit we'll be fed as to why it happened, and "we'll learn from this."

I am currently working away from home, and there's an assortment of different fans amongst us. The first to see me was a rag, and he said to me "I'm not even gonna take the piss as City lost, as that decision was a disgrace, and if it was me, I would have lost my head!"
 
People paid hundreds of pounds yesterday is it too much to ask for our efforts to be respected with the laws being applied correctly, I came out having done every Wembley visit thinking this is an overpriced scam, I spent hundreds on tickets to watch the official apply laws to suit the occasion, I know we were average, but sometimes average is enough, sadly we don’t get that luxury, on that I will agree with Pep wholeheartedly

I think var officials listen to live tv commentary when making decisions, and yesterday they were listening to shearer on bbc. Neville and carragher have been influencing live VAR decisions for the last few years. If it was pre-VAR and the ref/linesman hadn't seen the handball, we'd be saying this is exactly why we need VAR. Complete farce
 
What frustrates me is pep has a opportunity to lay into the referees every pre match post match press conference to the media and if you don't make a big big deal out of corrupt bias decisions like that the likes of web is as happy as Larry!

On my commentary they were saying he’s off & the refs been called to the screen oh hang on no it’s been cleared.

it's very valid, why stop the game and then not afford the ref the opportunity to make is own call, having said that the blind twat would probably not be able to find the VAR screen
 
Question one - is deliberate handball outside the area by a keeper a straight red even without denying a clear goal scoring opportunity? Question two - even if the answer to question one is no, how is handling the ball off a strikers head in the centre of the goal not denying a clear goal scoring OPPORTUNITY anyway? If not, why is he handling it? Mad
 
You read the law it's made so var can make up what ever they want to suit the occasion! Like Rashford being 2 yards offside few years back web came up with an excuse why they allowed it!

First few paragraphs of the hand ball rule for a goalie

According to the English Football Association (FA) and the International Football Association Board (IFAB) Laws of the Game, specifically Law 12 (Fouls and Misconduct), the rules regarding a goalkeeper handling the ball outside their penalty area are clear:

1. Handball Offence: A goalkeeper is subject to the same handball rules as any outfield player when outside their own penalty area. If a goalkeeper deliberately handles the ball with their hand or arm outside the penalty area, it is considered a handball offence. This results in a direct free kick awarded to the opposing team from the spot where the offence occurred.

2. Determining the Location: The position of the ball is critical. The offence is based on where the ball is when it is touched by the goalkeeper’s hand or arm. If any part of the ball is on or over the penalty area line, it is considered inside the penalty area, and the goalkeeper is permitted to handle it. If the entire ball is outside the penalty area, handling it is an offence.

100% this, Shearer led the he shouldn’t be sent off lobby to VAR. He said the ball was going away from goal, of course it did sent there by Hendersons right hand. They don’t even hide it anymore.
 
This one really fucking grates on me it really does. It was so obvious and deliberate. It wasn’t like he just didn’t realize where he was, he clearly knocks the ball away from Haaland knowing he was in no man’s land and Haaland would score. It’s not even fucking close and for the ref and VAR to get it wrong is fucking inexcusable.

Q1 - no, it isn't a straight red in all cases.

Q2 - this is the maddest bit. The VAR explanation was that it was only a possible GSO, not an obvious GSO.
So they admitted it was a GSO, but made up a whole new definition about it to justify the non-decision.
Even Ian Wright thought it was a red card!

It had to go to an OFR, and then the ref makes a decision. As it was, the linesman not noticing that it was outside the area is an uncorrected error.
 
Posted this last night on post match thread - point is if Pep had called this **** out earlier he wouldn’t have had the game .

Didn't clearly see the Henderson handball live and wasn't sure what was going on and most of the half time focus around me was the penalty. Just watched it now and it is fucking shocking, Attwell has got away with too many already with us and this needs to be the last.
My post on 30th April when I knew he had the game..
Literally rewrote the definition of “ interfering with play” in front of our eyes that day, bent as fuck .
He has done us over when on VAR duty on numerical occasions.

Attwell in VAR! The man who re-wrote the offside rule for Utd against us in front of our own fucking eyes - how many times is this **** gonna be allowed to fuck us over ?? I know he doesn’t do it but Pep needs to call this fucker out - Klopp would do it !
