Referees/Officials

The whole it's too early for a card bollox webb came up with has got to stop.until then the video stuff won't work, stick to the rules of the game from the 1st minute onward,if webb is chosen to do it it won't be any good

Many issues about Video refereeing.
1st is how does it become active? The referee requesting a review will not do.
2nd is the banter between officials. This needs to be at least on the record for clubs to review at the very least. Public ideally!
3rd is "When is the ball kicked" for offside decisions. By the laws of physics this is the point at which all momentum has been imparted into the ball by a player - which is between 2 and 4 frames (80ms and 160ms) dependant on the pass speed and occurs before a gap is visible on TV (the point pundits insist on using).

When it was used in the spain match they checked every goal seemed like automatically and were spot on disallowing 2 i think it was,i'm not sure how far it will be used,i would think goals, penalties and red cards

Thanks for that.

Yet again with an idiotic, moronic strawman argument.
No one has suggested City have not got decisions in their favour.
However the decisions we have got are mostly correct or at worst, marginal.

Of the 7-8 games which have seen game-changing, clearly and outrageously wrong refereeing decisions have ALL
Note ALL
Gone AGAINST City.

I have highlighted that even the few most supposedly controversial decisions in our favour were either correct or marginal at worst.

Does that penetrate that thick skull yet?
There have been at most 3 or 4 contentious penalty shouts where, on another day with another ref would have been given. Then there was the Sane goal which could have been given offside as a couple of hairs on his barnet where partially offside. That is all I can think of off hand.

If its means that Pep or players get fined for speaking out and the press are ignoring it why not put a friendly press person in the press conference. Lucky Toma for example. He could list the dodgy decisions so they're out there. Pep scan make a comment along the lines of agreeing the standard of refereeing is poor and that he is seeking further talks with Riley.

Currently they are getting away with it as the press are happy to sweep it under the carpet.

Well someone has suggested NO controversial decisions have gone against us this year and the Bravo tackle (which you called a soft penalty), Sane offside against Arsenal both went for us. So whether it was the correct decision or not a controversial decision has gone in our favour and that's the only thing I was stating.

So maybe you should know what people have actually written and what I am actually responding too. You may be able to follow the debate then.

Well, what is really interesting is that the bravo "foul" (a 50-50 in which Rooney was the one who was two-footed) was deemed to be more "controversial" than a clearcut penalty that should have been awarded to us (and hardly got a mention)

Or the Aguero "assault" that led to a convenient ban received rather more screentime than an ibrahimovic elbow that broke two teeth.

So not only did we get the worst of the decisions on the field, the media coverage for our decisions off field were equally poor.

Another instance was the intense coverage of a Burnley penalty wrongly turned down - all while conveniently glossing over the fact that the player in question was offside!

Come off it Frank. The Bravo tackle was only 'controversial' because the rag propaganda machine deemed it so. The reality is that it wasn't even a foul.

And controversial in this context is surely just another word for ridiculous or non-debatable. The Sane offside wasn't ridiculous anymore than the Harry Kane one was. However, the David Luiz non-red card was ridiculous, as was the Kyle Walker shove, as was the James Milner foul on Sterling, as was the Aguero booking for diving against Monaco, as was that ludicrous free kick against Ya Ya on Sunday that led indirectly to Arsenal's winner. We have been absolutely shafted in the big games this season whichever way you wish to cut it

According to City watch we have never won a game with Craig Pawson in charge: He's also denied stonewall penalties against Leicester and Aston villa and now Arsenal.

Really makes you think!
