Referees/Officials

Why is the defender always labelled "stupid" or "clumsy" every time there's a dubious penalty decision? The attacker's nearly always gets the benefit of the doubt in those situations, there was contact so he's 'entitled' to go down or he had to go down theatrically to make sure the referee gives the decision. Those situations have become a 'no lose' situation for attackers, Pogba was unlikely to score from his position unless the defender either backs off for fear of conceding a penalty and allows him time and space or he does his job (ie defend) in which case he (Pogba) can try and 'win' a penalty which 'in the current climate' is happening far too often. It must be a nightmare trying to defend in those situations but it shouldn't and wouldn't be if referees did their jobs correctly. It doesn't help that the media are dictating a narrative which, for the most part, seem to go against the views of the average match going fan. Yes, we all have our blue tinted specs on when it comes to decisions for against either us or our rivals but, with all due respect, that's not a penalty.
I can’t fucking stand that line “the striker is entitled to go down”. It’s become a culture within the sport where even defenders say it.

In no circumstances whatsoever is any footballer entitled to cheat. I hate it. It’s one of the many in a long line of reasons why football is not as good as it should be!

You mean defenders working as pundits?

Money talks. They are just sticking to the narrative because it pays the bills.

The VAR system has become a 'cheats charter', or should I more diplomatically say, it allows sub conscious bias to be legitimised.
After the stat at the weekend, that United had been awarded 33 penalties since the start of last season, then that should start alarm bells ringing with any football fan with half a brain - it just doesn't make sense whatsoever that one team could get so many spot kicks.
To explain - let's consider the 'dodgy' penalty - the ones that the pundits describe on TV as "I've seen them given" but really they're very soft. Now as we all know, United more often than not, get these awarded whereas other teams don't.
So let's suppose hypothetically that during the course of a season, United get awarded 10 dodgy penalties, while, say, Brighton get 10 iffy penalties turned down ? They then refer all of these to VAR, and because of the nature of the "dodgy" penalty, the VAR official states that "well - it's not a CLEAR AND OBVIOUS error" therefore the poor decisions all stand and the bias of the officials is then legitimised by the corrupt system !!

What is deemed 'clear and obvious' is just as subjective as the original decision.

Richard Keys on BeIN is a know-nowt plank, but I found myself agreeing with him yesterday on the Pogshit penalty issue. He kicked his own leg thus tripping himself up whilst trying to hold off Douglas Luiz.
So, it's official, touch a Ushited player in the box (or not as the case may be) and the ref or Video Ref will give the penalty. They even trip themselves up now KNOWING that one of the above will ensure the spot kick is given.
FFS when Keys can see the cheating and bias coming out of Old Toilet, that's pretty damning for the rest of the world who are pretending they can't.
Keys was adamant it was a penalty for Chelsea despite Gray and Nige explaining it to him how it wasn't.
Made a right arse of himself.

How Cancelo got booked but the Fat Shite didn’t is a mystery to me. A truly baffling decision.

Also, is it any wonder they get so many penalties when they get away with such blatant dives? It’s almost as if refs encourage it by not punishing them for cheating.

What has Martial got to lose by taking a dive in the box? Best case scenario he gets a penalty, worse he gets told to get up.
