Referees' Performances | 2025/26

True but that was before VAR. It's easy to say the ref missed it at the time but more difficult to say VAR missed it even tough they watched it from half a dozen camera angles.
Google tells me that a retro ban can still be given if not seen by officials on the pitch or VAR (in very small writing it adds this applies to Manchester City offending players only).

Seriously, a retro ban is an option but, VAR and Webb will cover eachother.

He started off ok then just got worse and worse, the foden booking is absolutely baffling can only be for betting purposes, the doku foul was ok in his and VAR’s eyes most likely as he got a shot off,I’m sick to death of these fuckers, had a long chat outside the Etihad when queuing for the buses with a fella who said the exact same as me,we are reffed differently from every other team ..
Thats been the case since the sheik took over and got worse when we started winning silverware. But hey … agenda my behind no?!

PiGMOL apparatchiks are humourless, bumptious, officious, and overwheening dolts. And that's the best I can say for them. They see themselves as the guardians of the LotG and the game itself. They are slowly killing it by their inbred. narcissistic prancings and rationed whistling after registering which colour shirt transgressed said LotG.

Rags and scousers have both had sucessful red card appeals

I have no idea why the refs in this league continue to allow Arsenal to do a late run from behind the GKs vision in front of him to block the GKs movement, usually from Saliba, on every single corner. Players are allowed to stand in front of the GK, but any movement with the intention to restrict the GKs movement is against the rules, so why does not a single ref in the league stop them from doing it on every corner for years now? Why is no one even mentioning it in the media when its blatant cheating, clearly against the rules and yet allowed every time they do it?
I said something similar. Its american football that is being played featuring a block. No attempt to look at the ball. Sole objective is to block the goalkeeper getting anywhere near the ball. The lack of pushback from football pundits is criminal. They are getting away with it time and time again. You would think a manager of an opposing team would speak out or challenge POGMOL regarding application of the rules of the game.

No card of even deemed a foul from Gabriel on any of these of course, instead he is allowed to score a 96th min winner after Saliba blatantly fouling the GK (obviously uncalled as well)

Dirtiest player in the league

The refs are too scared to send off any arse players this season no doubt following instructions to keep the title race close

Add to this and the non penalty for clear handball, Saka avoided a yellow card stopping Gordon breaking, then minutes later threw clear dissent at the referee inc arm motions, 2 yellows. Nothing given (yet Phil booked for dissent when the muppet in our game gave a free kick against us for a good tackle).
Then Calafiori . already on a yellow, commits the clearest yellow card going, pulling down Burn by grabbing his shirt and no 2nd card.

Extremely dodgy going ons yet they overturned the penalty which was correct but that was VAR. Gillett was the best when he 1st started officiating, his performances these days are extremely suspicious.
Overall a shocking weekend for PGMOL, Salah's laughable handball, the quickest VAR check ever where they can't find conclusive proof, our non penalty, Brightons non penalty, thought Brentford player should have seen red v Rags, non seen the incidents but Fulham very unhappy over 2 Var calls

How many pens have united, liverpool and Real Madrid had this season? I notice Mbappe has just scored another pen. Have we had any?

It's disgusting the way games are being manipulated.
And that's why we have VAR in football.
This and the new time allotments at the end of games are just manipulation tools brought in to benefit the red shirts just enough as to not look corrupt (even though it does alot of the time)

I remember reading somewhere late last season that, this decade, Liverpool have had 48 penalties, City have had 54 and United have had 58.

The numbers alone are irrelevant. It's when those penalties are awarded and how they changed the game.

Getting a nailed-on penalty when the game is already put to bed is a little different than getting a soft penalty when you are struggling and either drawing or losing.
