Blatant penalty missed on BernardoI thought Madley did fine. If his job was to lead their press whilst in a defensive block. I counted 6 occasions when our players had to change direction because of his positioning. That’s not bias, just incompetence.

Yep. They should be most concerned about upholding the laws of the game. However their first concern is their mate.I think all the referees are prone to bollocks and that is where VAR should intervene.
The problem seems to be that the VAR team don’t want to be impartial, they don’t want to make their mate look incompetent so invariably just agree with whatever decision he has made.
We need a completely independent VAR body not run by the closed shop old boys masonic PGMOL.
Why did VAR not look at penalty. It may have been accidental but it was a foul nonetheless. Clear and obvious error as ref couldn’t have seen it and if he did why no penalty
It's valid if it involves us. What's next? Sorry ref I accidentally took the city players legs when I missed getting the ball. Don't worry son it was an accident - no penalty. When Bernardo got stood on Neville said ‘that’s not a penalty, that’s an accident’
Now, we can debate if it was a pen or not but an ‘accident’ surely isn’t a valid reason?
I agree mate..most fouls in the penalty area aren't done on purpose..just because it's an accident doesn't negate the fact it is a penalty. When Bernardo got stood on Neville said ‘that’s not a penalty, that’s an accident’
Now, we can debate if it was a pen or not but an ‘accident’ surely isn’t a valid reason?
It's a fair point. Staggered VAR didn't look at this more closely
