Scousers need a helping hand to get back on track
 
Just turned on Barca v Olympiarcos. Fucking hell the standard of officiating is off the scale bad. To disallow a goal to give a penalty, What's all that about and to deem a tussle, where nobody gets fouled, as a second yellow is crazy.
 
Bookings of Bernardo and Ruben a bit harsh, but very good on the whole, didn’t fall for their play acting
 
Very quiet on the possible penalty for the two handed push on Gvardiol,can see why Oliver didn't give it,obstructed view.
However VAR seemed to review and dismiss incredibly quickly.
Poor performance from the team but a little leg up from the officials would have been appreciated.

We were also booked for everything any they got away with everything until their first booking on 80 minutes. We were shit but he was complicit

You have to wonder what is the point of VAR? It was an obvious push and it was also obvious that Oliver’s view was obscured. Why not ask Oliver to at least have a look at the monitor?

That’s how it should work, but advice to look at the monitor has morphed into an inevitable overturning of the onfield decision rather than a better look at something the ref couldn’t see

How often do ‘less established’ referees call Michael Oliver to the screen?
