Oliver gives the “safest” decision and waits to be shown he has made a “clear and obvious” error…by one of his mates!!!
Sadly, this has got him where he wants to go…UEFA List and FIFA World Cup, which all puts more and more money in his pocket every season and an ever increasing profile!
Beto should have had 2 yellows, but in reality he should have got the first one so he didn’t make that same challenge again. The one on Khusa was a bad one. Stood on the back of his foot and took his boot off, which is a nasty challenge where he knew exactly what he was doing!!
We could talk about the refs until the cows come home, but 19 other PL teams can, too, because we all feel badly done to at some point.
What I don’t like to see is one team trying to impose their will by being overly physical to overcome their poor technical ability. Today, Oliver was very late to step in to stop it until far too late, and was then weak in imposing his authority.
At one point, he finally gave Tarkowski a yellow and the cameras focused in on him, only to see him say, clear as day, “Mike…fuck off!” Now, I realize that the Laws of the Game say it’s a straight red card (Respect?? HAHAHA!), but unless you score and swear into the camera, you get away with it, even though millions see it live on TV!
No one is going to shed a tear for Everton clogging City for 95 mins, because no one wants to see us winning everything. We just have to live with this mentality, as we have had to do for years!
