It's funny, I thought he was dreadful (I usually do), but I overheard Brentford fans on my train home, saying how clever we are at getting decisions, and that he gave the majority our way, not how it felt to me, but their perspective on it.

Maybe he was just awful for both teams ?

There was decisions where i genuinely had no idea what he was doing.

I thought mine was "balanced", there was so many decisions today you could argue/complain about (both teams).

There was a ridiculous foul on Erling, where he was through on goal had he not been pulled to the floor, no foul, should have been a booking.

Every game has questionable decisions. I get we’re partisan and will always focus on the decisions that don’t go our way.

I remember the foul on Haaland and agree with you, but still acknowledge that the ref could have totally changed the game had he given the penalty against Nunes and sent him off.

Still people call corruption etc.

I haven't seen a replay of it, but I'm right behind that, and it looked like he got the ball to me, in fact I said "brilliant tackle" at the time, it was also reviewed by var, and nothing changed.

Could easily have given two pens against us today so I have him down as just not being terribly good, he certainly wasn’t biased against us.

Seems to be the case now. Celebrate the ref because of the few occasions he didnt give an incorrect decision against us.

Best one for me are the subtle ones, first half we foul a Brentford player at side of box in a dangerous position, they still have control of the ball yet he doesn’t play advantage and gives them the free kick. The EXACT opposite happens in the second half, in the same place, yet he allows play to carry on even though we aren’t in a threatening position.

Simple, but clever and intentional.

Operation flagrant foul, the NBA betting scandal where the referee could manipulate the results by how he gave fouls. The issue I see is not a betting scandal but human behaviour understands what your bosses want, if you get criticised for decisions against one team over another.

Ask them if they think Doku is clever at getting decisions & ask them how many times was he fouled? How many were awarded? What do they think the outcome would be with his marker scared of making a tackle.

Only thing that surprised me was he didn't give either penalty appeal but, in a honest world VAR would have put him right.... perhaps.
