Reform 2025 Limited new name same business

In her initial letter to parents, head teacher Stephanie Mander said the decision had been made "in the spirit of inclusivity and respect for the diverse religious beliefs represented" in the school's community.

This isn't inclusivity or respecting different faiths at all.
So they had a Christmas carol service but no Easter bonnet parade at a non-denominational school in Hampshire and the head teacher mentioned the inclusivity word. They might not even have sold poppies but maybe they did.
Reform it is then.

It’s the kind of story that previously might have made it to the local newspaper and one person might have written an angry letter about.

Nowadays it’s all over the internet and you have politicians and bad actors weaponising it, most of whom aren’t even practicing Christians themselves.

That we know about it is the most depressing thing about it.

There are similarities with the US and Trump, I think. A generation (at least) of politicians that have failed to deliver on issues important to a large proportion of society. Including issues people may not feel comfortable about openly supporting, such as action on immigration. At some point, the electorate will snap and vote for people promising action, even to the extent of self-harming, if someone finally proposes action on those issues.

The reality, of course, is that the issues are complex and unlikely to have easy solutions but I can understand the appeal after decades of apparent "neglect".

The UK's saving grace may be that the lunatic in the US was able to take over one of the two parties, whereas your lunatic doesn't just need to fight the Labour party, he needs to win votes from the Tories as well if they are to replace Labour. Can anyone see that happening?

I haven't lived in the UK for over 40 years and so may be out of touch. But politics is still politics, isn't it?

The UK’s saving grace is that Farage is very closely associated with Trump, and by the time of the next UK election Trump will have alienated everyone who isn’t a complete moron. Farage’s close ties with Trump will end up biting him on the arse.

Sorry mate . Little things like you can’t even do a nativity at school for fear of upsetting certain sections of groups and flying of the st George is not favoured either . Little things to most but to me it hurts .
Hurts feeling like you can't fly a flag?

God knows how you would have coped if another country came over and stole your land and counties

Well, let's hope so.

But I can still see a path where Trump regains some sanity, eases up on tariffs, gets over the tariff shock effect on the economy and gets economic growth and the stock markets back up to 2024 levels, blaming the first six months on Biden and claiming both and whatever trade deals he can conclude as major successes. He still has three years. A long time in politics. Coupled with him actually taking action, no matter how erratic, in the areas he said he would like immigration, government waste, DEI, gender politics and the like, I am not so sure it will be so easy to discount him.

Yes, I know. That presupposes him regaining some sanity :)

Anyway, wrong thread.

The replies that say "Reform it is then...", whilst obviously flippant, are part of the problem.
To dismiss genuine concerns as either racist, thick or/and even look down on those who go in their local Wetherspoons is arrogance.
This is exactly why Reform will continue to get votes. Not from me I might add.

What "genuine concerns" will Reform sort out?
Reform have appealed to the people with built-in hatred. The ones that will blame immigration for ANYTHING...simply because they hate people that aren't the same as them.
I test them..."what about the immigrant family that live next door to me? They lived there for two years now, and they seem ok...a good, hard-working family. From Australia."

You can guess the replies.."oh...THEY'RE ok..."

They’ll continue to get votes regardless of whether other people call their voters thick. If they are voting for them for that reason, that would prove the point a bit though!

Reform won't address anything that will make lives better, that was kind of my point.

Ordinary folk... normal areas... overrun... Britain isn't Britain any more...

Deary me. This grim diatribe reads like a Daily Hatemail editorial/Britain First tweet!

I suggest you switch off GB News and take a trip into the countryside for the day, which is definitely still Britain.
Don't forget Lincolnshire. Parts of that only look like that because immigrants drained it.

Is a story about a non-denominational school 200 miles away not having an Easter bonnet parade because of “inclusivity” a genuine concern? It’s simply rabble rousing by the usual suspects to generate outrage about trivia. It’s not surprising you end up with flippant responses if you’re taken in by this nonsense.

Must have been one hell of a dinghy or are they really outside this conversation and entered with passports, visas etc? Unless I have missed something the conversation Reform are having centers on people they believe are in country illegally.

This is the thing. Apart from a thick as shite, racist minority, i dont think many people at all have any issue with anyone coming in, with a visa , working in the NHS, or like in my nannas home where the largely african staff are utterly brilliant. Etc

Its a silly example and not top of MOST peoples concerns.

It is a bit like Victor Crosby on the New Statesman, trying to out right wing B'stard with his slavery the economic miracle proposal.

They are already proposing Concentration Camps and desperate people are lapping it up.
