Reform UK Party Limited Company

Reform (like some other parties) can promise anything, up to and including a return to 1956, in the safe knowledge they will never have to implement it.

If they did have to implement their insanely impractical policies, the outcome would make Truss look like a financial genius by comparison.

Wishful thinking is not a practical policy.
Wishful thinking won a referendum in 2016.

My prediction is that this suits the Conservatives.
They said they would have candidates in 630 seats.
Now he is standing, I think they will go for a lot less and try and focus their efforts on fewer seats to try and make sure he gets in.

This doesn’t suit them at all, might well be the death knell of them, and as much as that might be amusing in the short term, it’s a be careful what you wish for…

I've just watched the Tory party political broadcast and the sheer cheek of it was something to behold.
If you've been in power for 14 years, and your party broadcast is anything other than what a utopia you've created, you might as well not show it. Every time I hear a Tory talking about how they're going to solve this or that problem, it's like listening to a fox talking about how to improve chicken coop security after they've just run rampage for the 10th time.

My main worry with Reform is the number of people who think that the Tories have only been awful because of the individuals involved rather than the awful policies. There are people who think that the Tories' ideas are great (and even don't go far enough), but they're just a bunch of fuckwits. Thankfully, parties like Reform tend to struggle past one or two vaguely charismatic candidates and get to the dregs pretty quickly. If they're looking dangerous, it won't be long before some candidate's old tweets are dragged up with the inevitable racism or conspiracy bullshit and Farage is on the news having to justify them as a candidate. Maybe they should bring Godfrey Bloom back.

Democracy heh? They held the election for a new leader pretty quick.

They don’t need to. Reform is a private company controlled by Farage using money lent to the company by Richard Tice.

Members, who pay to join, have no say in its governance.

It’s just a money making scheme.

Yes, but that wasn't a practical policy and that is a) why we're so deep in shit and b) why practically everyone, irrespective of their views on Brexit, is dissatisfied and many are now downright cynical about politics and the political process.

You could, for example, promise to give everyone a free Rolls-Royce. If people were stupid enough to believe it - and Brexit was scarcely less stupid - they might vote for it. But it would be impossible to deliver.

Yes Frogface Fascist thinks Skeggy is the barometer of British political opinion.

Oh and those fucking yellow tweed jacket and strides yesterday.....fucking grifting clown

When people start chirping about how smart a political operator he is in a week or 2, I hope everyone else remembers that a week ago he wasn’t interested in standing. There is no master plan, it’s just grift grift grift.

The Tories have started worse than expected, he’s found a constituency that won’t completely reject him for the 12th time and he probably thinks that if Ed Davey could be leader of the opposition then so could he.

Of course it’s a grift, covering all bases now that Trump has been found guilty. If he doesn’t get in he’ll be off to the US to chance his arm and if he does then he gets the MPs wage while doing fuck all for it, apart from getting a couple of minutes in the Commons to remind us of his bile.

Reform aren’t there as a serious party, they are there who influence things, nothing more.

It's a similar argument to those made by Nazis and communists isn't it? If only Hitler wasn't a neurotic pervert if only Mao had gone mad withe power.

It is never be the underlying ideology that's at fault.
