Refusal to pay energy bills

I’m 943.47 in credit with British Gas, I pay 153 per month but live in an extremely energy efficient house, cavity wall and loft insulation. My bill was calculated when Mrs H was furloughed during Covid and also when we were using the electric fire which we don’t anymore (have the Gas CH on).

I rang British Gas for a refund, they’re refusing to offer me more than 340. Now I know the bills will go up in Winter when these charlatans increase the price of energy but does anyone know what my legal stance is here? I was wanting around 600 back leaving just shy of 350 ad a credit.

I would argue that that the terminology product should not be used here, this is an essential resource that society needs to function. Without which the society in which these companies and shareholders exist in collapse.

These profits are not generated by ingenuity or business savvy but by a breakdown in world order.

I’d love to know how much the BBC had to pay Prince Charles’ old squeeze Biggy Leggy Burke after the allegations made that formed the basis of the Diana interview. I’m sure a few hundred thousand more license fee payers thought fuck em after that episode.

with regards to the topic, my wife wanted us to do this, take part. I dont want to, I think we'll end up being shafted.

what I do think though is that some people are not going to be able to pay their bills over winter, its going to be crushing, and any claw back of profits or heklp for the people are going to wipe those bills from over winter. I do think that is a possibility.

Suppliers must refund you unless they have reasonable grounds. In your case I would remind them of their obligations, tell them how much you want, and ask them what reasonable grounds they are refusing to refund you - Before asking them to respond remind them that the call might be being recorded by them and they carry ostensible authority for the company. If you aren’t satisfied then complain in writing to them. Then complain to ofgem if you still aren’t satisfied with their response / they don’t respond.

They lost $21bn in 2020. Made $8bn last year. If they make $30bn this year they’ll only be making average profits over a 3 year period as compared to the 3 years prior to covid.

People start to see things differently when they realise that they themselves are being robbed...Massively. You are witnessing one of the biggest, if not THE biggest of wealth transfers ever. Being obedient has got us in this shit.
