Ricky Lambert played for the Champions when he joined Liverpool after they had won it by February 2014!

Chris Smalling (cnut)....has won the league twice although I am unsure if he ever actually played for Maidstone*.

I would say what Tony Book achieved takes some beating played non league football with Bath 370 appearances,his first league club was Plymouth at the age of 30 then moved to City and won the League,F A cup,league cup and European cup winners cup.Also managed us and we finished 2nd and won the League cup.

He still plays like a non-league player. He wore a tag for six months and made a racist comment in a casino too. That's why I don't like him.

He played hundreds of games for City, retired from playing when he was 40 years old, and , as you say, went on to assemble a very good team in the mid '70's.

One of our all time greats in my opinion, both as a player and manager.
