Remember Edin Dzeko?

Discarded for Bony does make it sound bad!I do remember Edin looking disinterested and lazy, for his last season at least. That could be down to the fact that he thought he should be playing ahead of Sergio, who knows eh!?..

Everyone just going to pretend that this guy was unconditionally loved by all?

When in fact a significant minority used to call him rotten when he was actually here.
Happy to admit I never rated him. His touch was awful and when he started games he rarely did anything and he was incredibly lazy.

A player who seemingly is getting better as each year passes in the eyes of fans.

You want to talk about a top player who was never appreciated by most then I would argue riyad mahrez is that guy. A truly world class player who some hated after that penalty at Liverpool

He was very frustrating at times. Would regularly miss sitters but probably still score a brace in same game. Playing in a team with Aguero, Tevez and Ballotelli and too good not to be first choice somewhere.

I predicted on here in about 2014 or so that Yaya would become the biggest "rose tinted glasses" player in our history and its already coming true. Him and Dzeko.

People are already thinking that 13/14 Yaya was what Yaya was always like. Rather than the rest of his City career where he stood around in midfield and watched the opposition run past him while pointing at others to do something about it. People remember the times he picked up the ball and drove forward in midfield and think he did this every game - it was actually rare.

Yaya will have the best YouTube compilation of any midfielder in PL history. But he was lazy, didn't press and consistently cost us games in Europe because of it.

Pep let Yaya go on two separate occasions. That should tell you something.

I wrote that several years ago and its coming true.

Luckily we have places like this to remind us of the reality

I'll go one better (or worse)

Discarded for Creaney ;-)

To be fair, I loved Walsh at the time and he certainly did have a big impact when we first signed him, but by the time he left the club he was 33 and had 4 goals in 37 starts for us, so selling him was the right decision.

Creaney was definitely the wrong decision though...

Agree Dzeko had the touch of an elephant. Good sub and had a few hot streaks but we didn't make the wrong call selling him. Bony was definitely much worse though lol.
