Repercussions - From the PL, FA, UEFA and within the Club

To be honest I think the clubs involved are more likely to be rewarded in the long term. The new UEFA CL format is an absolute farce. I think regardless of the fuss being made now, we all know that the rags and Dippers get favourable coverage and before too long that will be back to normal.

On the contrary they've lost the key part of what they've always blackmailed UEFA with. Imagine what reaction they'll be the next time they try anything like this?

I don't like the CL reforms one bit but at least there's a performance related incentive to qualify (in most cases. The traditional clubs thing is a load of bollocks).

Someone has almost certainly already suggested this but I think the City hierarchy initially committed to the ESL to protect the massive investment the owners had already made in the club.

Presumably they thought that the concept had some kind of traction and did not want to get left behind.

An additional motivating factor could have been their perception of UEFA following the FFP affair.

Viewed from this perspective, I am therefore inclined to be forgiving.

Am also relieved to be able to take an interest in how the remainder of the season goes now that the entirely correct decision to withdraw from this heinous project has been made.

Totally agree mate.

10 point deduction for all 6 clubs and a heavy fine

Best off trying to find ways to give the fans more power and more representation at higher levels. Give owners less power and rights to what they can do at the clubs.

Each European club, whether they are participating in Europe or even in their countries 3rd tier, should have fan representatives that are voted for by the fans, and have their say on the issues and structures within the sport.

Decisions like the monstrosity that is and would’ve been the European super league are the product of greedy owners and individuals in the highest positions in the game. All the time they have the power to do something like this it will continue to be a risk to the game we love.

It’s the owners and board of these clubs that need punishing, all other staff, (management and playing included) at these clubs shouldn’t suffer due to their disgusting actions.

How and if this could even be put into place and work I have no clue however

Heads should roll and we should be heavily punished. The board has dragged our clubs name through the mud and colluded with the same people that tried to destroy our club for a decade. We even quoted the Glaziers on our official website. Sickening.

For what? A days news stories and a shot across UEFA'S bows.

This has the risk of driving clubs to seek further exits though, but agree it should not go unpunished.
I'd applaud the balls of anybody willing to try any of this shit again after seeing the backlash it's received and none of them could have any complaints about punishment. The FA, Premier league, UEFA etc cannot simply allow the clubs to continue as normal and just be grateful it's not happening. punish them, and punish them strongly.
