I think Jackson Martinez is a decent option. Of course, another way that we could replace them is by getting an AM/Winger that can consistently get around 15 goals a season.

Bale?
pretty unrealistic.

-- Wed Jun 26, 2013 8:48 am --

Well if we had signed Falcao after he followed a pretty similiar career path nobody would be complaining, we would just be missing the £50 million you would have to pay as a club with a brain bought Radamel first.
Falcao was proven in la liga for 2 seasons !?

So, to get this straight, you think Jackson Martinez is shit because he has only had one good season, but to quantify that he has only had one season in Europe !

He has a similar record to Falcao, in that he moved from South America in his early to mid-twenties and hit the ground running in Portugal with one of the top sides there. The Portuguese league offers an easy route for South Americans to get into Europe, and if they are any good they tend to end up in Spain, which is where Martinez will go either this summer or next.

A few posters on here slate players just because they haven't heard of them, but there problem is they have only heard of the top European players that play in at either Barca, Madrid or Bayern Munich and these players aren't usually for sale until they are well past it.

Jackson Martinez should be an option for us, as should Negredo, Soldado, Benteke, or whoever. Personally I still think the Cavani deal could still happen, it's all down to ADL and whether he accepts our offer or not. I only think one striker will join us this summer, and we'll go ahead with three strikers and the midfield will push up and hopefully score more goals than last season. It's a bit of a gamble if we pick up injuries, especially with the amount of games that we may play, but that is the clubs decision to make.
Finally, someone who agrees with me that Jackson Martinez would be a good option. :)

No need for another forward

Yaya- Fernandinho

Navas - Silva - Nasri

Aguero

Only one of those players regularly scores goals. Yaya chips in with a few but silva navas and Nasri don't get enough at all. We're going to need a proper goalscorer.

Silva, Nasri and Navas should score goals or they should be replaced.

How much would Martinez cost and would Porto sell?
