Results went our way in the "Carabao" tonight....

Both Chelsea and Liverpool will play mostly squad players anyway. They'll suffer if they have many injuries and covid cases. But if they don't have many in January, then it won't be a problem for them: they'll play squad players and if they reach the final then great, if they fail to reach the final, then great as well, for otherwise the fixture congestion in March will be very tough.

Generally, giving playing time to squad/fringe players, especially in cup semis, is not a bad thing per se, for some players (e.g. Keita, Firmino, Minamino...) may hit form and be useful for the league games. It's a bad thing if the resources are depleted, and it's early to say whether they will suffer from covid/injuries in 2-3 weeks. There are positives and negatives from playing those cup games, time will tell which will prevail.

was a good night, Leicester will complain they are tired, scousers & chelsea now have 2 leg semi finals.

the knock on effect of games so close together will tire scousers out. Even though we dont play them until april, the prem is a marathon, being tired when only a third way in to a marathon isnt a good plan.

It is but Klopp want it one legged plus he went to town and moaned like fuck he has to play 26th and 28th sorry Klopp if you don’t like tradition in this county fuck off back to Germany where you can have a nice winter break you goofy ****.
I thought they didn't play added time in the league cup. How often has the Klopp clock kept ticking until they score, last night and in league games.

Irrelevant to the point of the thread - the reality of potential fixture congestion, compounded by Afcon, Covid, and playing your rivals at the same time. We're out of the competition so, again, I ask you, is fixture congestion for them helpful for us?
Go on Johnny; keep the argument going , just because you have a keyboard - please say, "No."
No dipper will go the AFCON, behave
