I really hope Rodger’s isn’t on our shortlist when Pep goes.
Depends how their next few league fixtures go. Klipperty tends to put all his eggs in one basket, and if he doesn't think the league or cl are likely he'll go for the carabou cup and declare himself the next Paisley if they win. They won’t play their strongest team in this competition so very much doubt they will win it.
Correct. Winning is a great habit; winning trophies is an even greater habit. Anyone trying to put a negative spin on a team winning a game and getting closer to winning a trophy is talking horseshit.I do not see why tonight’s results helped us at all. People said the same last year with Chelsea’s fa cup commitments and race for top four. Similarly winning the Carabou Cup has never affected our chances of winning anything, in fact I think it has had the opposite effect.
The point is, would you rather have them play more or less games. It's no brainer for me. The fact that we did well enough over 4 years in it is immaterial to the argument.Well I do hope those people are right but I think it’s wishful thinking. There were few players out there for the full 90 minutes considered part of the first 11 of either side and it could be argued it gave some of the fringe players valuable minutes on the pitch. Pretty sure I have heard Khaldoon and Pep speak about the value of winning the Carabou cup previously, hence we regularly play strong sides, and the likelihood is one of our rivals may benefit in this way.
Take the point with regards Covid but that is a big variable as it could decimate a side at anytime. Personally never like to see a rival doing well in cup competitions as I think success breeds success.
I agree with you,the more games the better for usThe point is, would you rather have them play more or less games. It's no brainer for me. The fact that we did well enough over 4 years in it is immaterial to the argument.
What's positive for us; fixture congestion for your main rivals, or lack of fixture congestion for them?Correct. Winning is a great habit; winning trophies is an even greater habit. I would rather they got knocked out and had no success, as I think winning trophies/playing in finals/semi finals helps teams to develop and grow. The point is, would you rather have them play more or less games. Why not ;-)I really hope Rodger’s isn’t on our shortlist when Pep goes.
How did we get away with it? Every season during the run to,and winning the final was invariably in the middle of the best results of the season. What's positive for us; fixture congestion for your main rivals, or lack of fixture congestion for them?
We got away with it, pretty much, over 4 years but, fuckme! This is getting like the brexit thread - I wish I hadn't bothered!
Tottenham are winning this under Conte, taps nose.I would rather they got knocked out and had no success, as I think winning trophies/playing in finals/semi finals helps teams to develop and grow.
