Return of Supporters

If you’ve got to show photographic ID I don’t think that will happen.

And how well is photo ID going to be checked. I have been to more than a handful of concerts on tickets purchased off sites and it clearly says photo ID will be checked and it wasn’t

They will certainly checking for the first few months at least and see how it goes (ie if the government relaxes things a bit more it will inevitably go out the window).

I would certainly expect other venues such as concerts to be checking as well going forward.

That was in what are now the ‘olden days’ I guess! It’s a ‘new’ and strange world out there! Until we are back to full stadiums I guess they will be checking ID!
The ‘new’ norm I’m afraid.

Photo ID is City's doing, not the PL, government, safety grounds people. Nope. Just City. Alongside the Amnesty that isn't an amnesty and the end of the sharing of season tickets amongst family and friends.

Rules is rules.

City are required, under the SGSA guidelines, to have accurate contact details for everyone in the stadium. So if you get a ticket, give it to your mate and fail to inform them, then they won't have that. If someone sells a ticket on to a stranger, via Facebook or Twitter, they won't have that. Of course, if you give your ticket to a mate, they might tell the club their contact details. Or they might not, particularly if the club refuse to allow passing on tickets.

And there's another reason why it's (temporarily at least) a good idea. Tickets are going to be scarce, with no more than 15k in the ground for any game. It's only fair that the club only admits people who are currently customers and therefore entitled to tickets. And that's the person named on the seasoncard or Cityzens matchday membership.

Hence photo ID, to ensure the person named on the ticket is the person using it. So, as you day, rules is rules.

Can I ask if you have a seasoncard? Is it in your name? Do you use it regularly or are you in a situation where you're perhaps working abroad and can't use it so give it to a mate or family member?

Well if thats the case then its good I found somebody and thanks for pointing it out. After 2 days constantly trying to contact supporters services without any luck last week you get frustrated and have to search for what you can.

If PB has direct contact then it would be most helpful to the club and supporters if some points could be noted.

1. The club will likely get many people raising the same points I made and will avoid that if they make it clear to Seasoncard holders and supporters that the existing terms and conditions will be temporarily overruled by requirements that they decide in order to comply with this unprecedented situation and governmental requirements.
2. It would also help if they acknowledge that they understand some people will be upset that they cannot use family group or guest provisions but the club is working hard to ensure the solution is as fair as possible. But it's just as possible that if there's spikes that can be traced to games, the stadiums will be shut again. So the club has to initially take a cautious approach that can be easily administered, even if that adversely impacts some people.
3. Perhaps also make supporters aware that the terms and conditions of Seasoncards clause 4.3 states that "only one (1) Seasoncard can be held per individual". This may not have been imposed in the past, but to be fair to all supporters this rule will now be implemented. Seasoncard holders with more than 1 seat need to comply with the directions issued by the club.
