Prestwich Blue, then the government should do something about this. Tell the Premier League, you either bring in a £30 maximum seat cost for the home fans. You will have until Easter of next year to sort. If this is not sorted, we the government will bring legislation to force you to do it.

I'm not a great fan of the government getting involved in football in that way.

Away fans maybe capped at £30. It stilled doesn't stop clubs from fleecing the home fans. It's time the home fans prices were also capped at the £30 as well.

While we're at it, let schoolchildren have free meals and drinks (non alcoholic, of course). Proper nutritional meals - not junk food like pies or burgers. Perhaps Jamie Oliver could give some advice.

Talking of Arsenal, the Telegraph are reporting that they have started screening their matches for members at Emirates Stadium. They will allow 368 fans into the stadium, who will have to pay £49 per person.

If Covid and Brexit are anything to go by then the second they get involved in any aspect of football governance the game as a spectator sport will be well and truly fucked.

With the loss to clubs this year I think if prices go anywhere, they will be upwards. They are going to want to recoup some of these losses and as they don’t live in the real world in general, it wouldn’t surprise me if this is the way they do it.
