Return of Supporters

Can't see any fans until at least November, and then putting back if nothing improves.

The campaign to televise all games will be strengthened.

Lower league clubs currently trying to sell a limited amount of season tickets for roughly 30% of their capacity will be hit, and the fans who were sold and October return will just get iFollow passes. With furlough ending and the possibility of still no fans, there are likely to be several go under without some rescue package by the PL or UK Gov.

Rebates so far by the PL and the China deal being terminated could cost each club £25.5m this financial year, and City have probably lost around £21m matchday income so far as well so far. Not a killer compared to signings, but I doubt any increase in solidarity payments are on the table to help smaller clubs.

Except for a minor alteration (social bubbles no greater than 6) theatre plans to reopen are unaffected. Not sure why the changes would materially affect football stadium plans on that basis.

Its bollocks isn't it , start letting people back into enclosed theaters yet not doing the same for mainly open air football grounds.
But then again I expect the twats running the country go to theaters more then football !

There will be no capacity crowds at football till the vaccine arrives and there is mass uptake.

100%.

Don't see it happening till next season start at the earliest....

That's assuming there are no issues with vaccine development, as there is currently - the Oxford vaccine has had to halt because of a pretty terrifying potential side effect in a participant. Quite worrying if caused by the vaccine but then again what this patient is reported to have is also a recognised but rare side effect of the flu vaccine also. Welcome to the new normal ladies and gentlemen.

UK has options on several vaccines. One of them is the Pfizer vaccine which is expected to release their phase 3 results by the end of October.

Fans going to football this year IMO isn't going to happen, I don't know the answer to this it looks like there are two options.

Suck it up and go full on and accept the consequences.

Shut it all down again and wait for a vaccine.

Yup not happening till at least March/April if that ... most likely next season start ... this season would be all on TV

Very good point, all eggs are not in one basket however I think the Pfizer vaccine is RNA based and traditionally they take a lot longer to optimise compared to the viral vector based ones like the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine. I am no immunologist though, wtf do I or any of us know?!

We will be lucky if we have full stadiums by the start of next season. With the virus now increasing. There is little chance that we will get back to normal for football fans before then.

I dont think there was any talk of having 'everyone back' in October. Doubt we will see full stadiums until next summer.
Boris said everyone back in Oct also we would all have wonderful Dec 25th together ,all along he has put dates on things which is stupid ,stood beside him the scientists don't put a date on anything , they are expecting a spike if not second wave,we are at the start of one ,prof whifty and the others are who we should listen tl, block the gov out

Saliva testing , trialling it next month ,that will allow theatres to let in people who are negative and get full crowds in

I love how the premier league are saying it’s vital we get crowds back in as soon as possible followed by zero mention of how the fans are the lifeblood of the game, how it’s pointless without them and the atmosphere they bring etc the reasons he gave we’re all entirely financial. Shows exactly what they think of fans.

Not a chance the crowds are coming back while the measures still seem to fall between two stools. Universities and schools going back will test the current theories of second wave coming we're all doomed or go back to normal lets see what happens. Financially this country is fucked and the death rate is not following the 'cases identified' curve at the moment, so at present I can't see why we have increased restrictions again.

More than you think.
