Return of Supporters

£5-10 a ticket in a new safe standing area for under 18s at the etihad would go some way to improving the atmosphere when fans are back. Why not keep it?

Imagine having a stand full of 18 year olds and under? The stewards would be having their hands full. But I like your idea it would give the stadium an edge it's been missing for years.

I'm not really that bothered about going back whilst it's reduced capacity, but my son is desperate to go so I've applied for the ballot. Not convinced we'll go into Tier 2 anyway in Greater Manchester.
Me neither really. On both counts.

Burnham might be able to get Trafford into Tier 2 but I don’t think Manchester will and if he can’t split Trafford, none of Gtr Manchester will.

And I don’t really fancy going to the games, neither do any of the lads I go with.

It’s something we lack at the minute, many at that age can’t afford to pay for their own ticket so go with parents instead. Of course a mix a 20-30s with others as well wouldn’t be discouraged. Mind you I wouldn’t go as far as giving them a drum.

A load of 9 year olds sounds great as the average age. However this is pretty ageist.

800 in the queue 90 mins after the ballot opening. Tens of thousands are applying for the ballot.

I knew this is coming but my point is get them hooked when they’re young and they’ll be buying season tickets for life and it creates a bit more of an atmosphere. Most of the people here have had their time on the kippax or north stand but the ones growing up now can’t have that.

I don't think it works like that anymore - younger people are becoming more fickle and will pick and choose games at best - just look at the way pubs are dying (pre-covid) with not many of the younger generation bothering anymore - attitudes change and come and go.

I applied at 10am and there was no queue whatsoever.

The queue page came up for about 30 seconds with the number. Shows the site was too busy at that time, and not surprising as they can shut down the ballot any time they want as there is no deadline.

I think the deadline is tomorrow??? Pretty sure they said it was open today and tomorrow

Is there a deadline to enter the ballot?
It is our intention to draw the ballot approximately 7-10 days prior to each matchday but this remains subject to change, given the complexities of the situation.

Maybe they have said but the FAQs are no help.

I’m not either. Cases are on the up again aren’t they?

from the email I got from the club
"The ballot will close at 11:59pm on Tuesday 15th December."

Would have thought this thread would of been busy today, here we are 12 hours in and only 4 saying they have applied for tickets. Wonder if that's a guide to the uptake?

I couldn't resist. Applied for two, me and my lad. Despite all the reasons for not going I just couldn't say no to the chance of going.
