Return of Supporters

I hope that happens but how can they have fully assessed the success of the trial events to make a decision. Have they had the PCR test results of all those that went to Wembley ? Don't think so ! All those who've been at the Snooker. It always looked like a tick box thing as the PCRs were not mandatory.
Good points. I'd have thought any positive noises would be more to do with the ongoing data regarding no big spikes following lifting of restrictions so far, coupled with the real world effectiveness of the vaccines.

Yes but for only 2000 tickets
Now it’s 10000 I would imagine there would be some criteria and some ballot too
We were looking at 12,000 fans for the Newcastle game and all subsequent ones. I think that was 12 home games, so nearly 150k fans would get the opportunity to attend. That's probably all SC holders and Cityzens members. On that basis we were quite happy for the ballot to encompass the normal percentage of Cityzens who would be at a full stadium (which is about 15% I think, maybe a bit more).

But with it being just one game, we'd prefer to change the criteria.

PCR tests are absolute dog shit anyway and tell us nothing.

We were only allowed 2k for Newcastle if in tier 2 and we were tier 3 which was 0. 4k was for tier 1, there was never any chance of anything like 12k.

PCR tests are more reliable than the lateral flow tests.
Interesting seeing reports about how the test events saw no increase in cases.
I have just done my PCR test so presumably I don’t need to wait for the text message to arrive saying the result.

Just seems stupid to me, it's one game, just get the season done with now and then you've got 2/3 months for the situation to change and to get plans in place for the new season. Use the euros as guinea pigs if needs be.

Wil wait for City sending Email out before I believe I ca attend Everton game , will book hotel for the Sunday night.

I think you are missing out on the big picture, and viewing things through a premiership prism, even though you have mentioned two significant events in your posts.

The last round of matches are being used as test events prior to the Euros as that is a huge event and similarly for all other sporting events such as Rugby, Cricket, tennis and probably other large gatherings which will hopefully happen over the summer.

Why would you wait to have trial events as that will only delay the return of larger crowds further down the road.

Agreed - the more data the better.
I want to go to the last match of the season, as many Euros matches as possible and the British Grand Prix.
Anything that enables that, bring it on

How so? You have to stick the same swab down your throat and up your nose in both, it's just what you do with it afterwards that differs.
All about who does the test as to whether the up your nose test is truly nasopharyngeal and the throat test is truly at the back.
Let’s just say when I did home lateral flow test myself it was much more comfortable than when the nurse at the hospital did it properly for both lateral flow and PCR.
One of reasons lateral flow tests perform poorly I believe.

well 2/3 months ago it looked likely to be no City fans, so any is better. A bunch of Spurs fans and NHS staff got to watch us lift the League Cup last weekend.

2bh, it would be sweet if it had been the other Dippers last game of the season, just so 500 of them got to see us lift the title in the flesh without ever seeing their own team do it.

And presumably the reason why the lateral flow tests we had to have to go to Wembley had to be done supervised at a test site and fans were not trusted to do them properly at home.
