Richard Dunne {merged}

Re: Dunne City Legend or Not?

Popular ? Mostly.
Clumsy ? Often.
Frustrating ? Regularly.
Heroic ? At times.
Legend ? Only time will tell.

In my eyes Dunne is a Legend of the Club.

This is the man who led us from where we were to a fully established Premiership Club and even when it started to go a little wrong under Keegan and Pearce with this Rock at the Heart of our Defence we never even "Flirted" with Relegation.

Many supporters of other Clubs at the time ( especially Liverpool ) felt that the Lad should have been in a better side than us.

For every own Goal there were three last ditch Goal Line clearances.

For every sending off there was a Game where an opposing superstar Forward spent ninety minutes in Richard's pocket.

No player won the player of the Year Award more.

Who has made more appearances for the Club since the Seventies ?? Anybody.

Torres in the 0-0, Tevez in the derby. Just to name a couple off the top of my head.

I understand why a lot of you say no, but in my eyes he is a legeng.

Is that significantly less than a legend? If so I agree.

I knew it didn't look right, I just couldn't put my finger on it though.
Thanks for that I feel better now.

Re: To: City Re: Richard Dunne

Lots of people going on about Dunnes loyalty.
But let's be honest if a top 6 side had come in for him
a few years ago when we were struggling and offered to up his wages
does anyone seriously think he'd have hung about?
