I think dunne's just gutted to have left, he had alot of affection for the club and wanted to be apart of the bright future we have. I'd be a bit pissed off aswell if some **** in a suit tried selling me behind my back

I can totally understand his disappointment timing wise, but all in all he's done pretty well out of City over the course of the last nine years, so I don't know what he's whining about and I'm not clear as to why he had to air his differences with Garry Cooke publicly. He knows how football works.

He's actually sort of ruined the whole fan affection thing for me now.

He'll be sorry he didn't count to ten in a few weeks time, once he's come to terms with it.

even better reception when Ade, Carlos and Robbie take the piss out of him as we steamroller Villa.....

Reading tru this thread i find it amusing how many people have got annoyed and upset over something richard dunne has said. Which has had no effect on your life but you feel the need to air your opinion on a public forum because you are entitled to your say on the matter. Dunne has just been pushed out of job he liked, has to move house change schools for his kids and start again some where else, but fuck him he should just shut up and move on and not upset the city loyal fans. Hypocrites.

having your say on an internet forum is hardly the same thing as granting an interview to a national newspaper.

What would have an effect on their lives is if they all turn up for work on Monday and they are shoved out the door because they found some one better, even if they had 3 years left on there contract.

oh cmon, you can't compare Richard's situation to that of the average wage slave struggling to pay the mortgage. he gets paid the megabucks partly due to the volatile nature of his employment. everyone knows how football works. if he couldn't see it coming, I think that's sad for him, but it was not a surprise to a large number of posters.

he's every right to feel upset or aggrieved. but bitching in a national newspaper is unnecessary, pointless, petty. it's only serving to upset people, including myself, most of whom would prefer to be remembering all the good things he did for this club.

It's not about the size of his wage or how good a player he was or wasn't for us. He played for 9 years.
The club have plenty of opportunity with the press to put their PR across, but now and again things happen that should be spoken about. I have no problem with Dunne giving his version of events.
Cleavers wrote a very good post about why he shouldn't have gone to the press, about what happened, which I agree with (burning your bridges) but Dunne must have felt the goodbye was so swift, "it was for good." Think I'm saying the club burnt the bridge for him.
The press do have a habit of printing stuff that suits there agenda and stirring it up for us is top of the list.
