richard dunnie, micah richards, michael ball shame on you.

For me Dunne is not having the greatest of seasons, but Ball left him covering the left back slot on god knows how many occasions yesterday and Richards is not at the races. Hughes given time to assemble his own team will become a decent manager. Whether he will be given time is another story. I dont know why so many CIty fans seem to think we should be top 5 already. Rome wasnt built in a day.

After seeing Bridge paraded around Ball probably didn't give a fcuk.
I'm not defending him but he seemed to have given up altogether.

i agree moomba, my beef is that the players owe the club and the fans a performance whoever is in charge, not try to get him sacked because they dont like his tactics/training.

I agree with that, although I don't think anyone is trying to get him sacked.

But if you can't lift yourself for the club if not the manager then I reckon long term you have no place at our club. These are the players that will be eased out of the club, and replaced with players with a stronger mentality.

It won't happen overnight, but I think regardless of who the manager is it will happen.

Its time to let a large quantity of our players go.

Hughes does and has to take some of the blame. i get uncomfortable when i listen to him blaming the players and not looking at himself.
I remember Kevin Keegan in a post match interview asking where the nearest Job centre was, such was the poor performance.

It is time to be ruthless because, lets be honest, does anyone want to see a repeat of this scenario with another manager in charge? If a few players take a dislike to our next manager they have proved they will underperform.

In my opinion this window should be about removing these players and bringing in players who are professional in both attitude and commitment. Sunday Supplement called it perfectly this morning. They said in no circumstances should we sign Bellamy and Parker, as it is not for a club with aspirations as we should have. If these two arrive then I will seriously question Hughes ambition, but until that arrives they are just speculation.

This transfer window should not only be about the megastars we are trying to sign. It should be about removing some of the plague in attitude and form.

Ball
Dunne
Richards - Reserves
Hamann
Fernandes
Vassell
Benjani
Mills
Jo - On loan
Elano

I would let all of those players leave be it on loan or permanently. They have proved they are non commited over recent weeks. I would maybe put Hart into back up or force him to fight it out with someone like Given. Theres too much complacency in the team. Shit like the above know they will be in and around the team every game and that is a worry.

I believe Hughes should get the chance to bring in the steal we desperately need. I have no problems with him bringing in some tough tackling players, as long as they aren't in the Dunne mould of tackle and hoof. If he brings in players of the calibre of Kompany and Zabaletta, then that is exactly what we need. Bridge is a fucking quality player, if he continues on that form than great.

Bellamy and Parker are a no from me though.

Well said.

The problems apparent have been around a long time. There needs to be as many out as in and Hughes has done very well in the transfer market so far. Who he brings in this month however will be of huge importance and significance.

I genuinely think De Niro has a point here, it has occurred to me for a long time that a nucleus of players here are attempting to sabotage the plan(s). Dunne, Ball, Vassell, Hamaan, Fernandes, Benjani, were all part of that spineless team that lay down and took a hammering at Middlesborough in May;spat their dummies out en-masse, because they weren't dictating the club's future. Get rid of all soon as possible, or better still let them rot in the reserves.

Hughes referred to this frailty explicitly yesterday, saying he was aware of the weaknesses from "day one". This squad is a poor one, and it seems to think it controls the club. That is plainly not the case, as they will find out in the next three weeks.

When Hughes has a team of his own players, i genuinely think we will see passionate and committed performances, from a team worthy of the name. Half of this squad knows it is at the guillotine, and the sooner their heads drop in the bucket the better.

Stick with Hughes, its this mass of championship-quality players that should accept the bulk of the responsibility, not him.

A mass of championship quality players that were good enough to finish 9th last season before Robinho, SWP and Kompany were added to the squad.

I agree with this 100%. I am fed up of the posts saying it all rests with the Manager. Hughes knows the problems and is brave enough to address them head on. Let's not crucify him for trying to weed out the crap players.

I've said it before - I'd run until I could run no more if I was wearing the shirt. Nothing frustrates me more.

Good luck Hughesy.

I for one have faith in you.

Vassell, Ball, Mills, Fernandes, Ched, Hamman are all Championship players IMO. None are good enough for this league anymore.

Dunne is looking out of sorts and Richards has an awful attitude at the Moment. Minus Bridge that was our starting defensive line yesterday and it could not cope with a managerless Championship side.
