Still not answering my question Moomba. They are championship players and you know it. they are part of our squad regardless if they are picked. Hamann has played plenty this season, as has Ball, Ched, Fernandes and Vassell.

Ball, Fernandes and maybe Evans in the future could do a job for a premier league club IMO. Hamann is done, Vass has lost it.

But I'm not sure what your point is, thats not our squad is it. Or are you saying that the quality of the squad is dependent on it's fringe/weak players?

Is Hulls squad better than ours?

I have no idea whether the players mentioned are trying to get Hughes sacked or don't like his tactics or his training methods or think Hughes is a cack manager or are just genuinely confused as to what the hell the manager wants them to do.

I do know I want a manager who can manage players, get the best out of what he has and replace those players he deems not good enough and move us forward during this transistion period.

I want a manager smart enough to do this without seemingly pissing off half the squad and has the ability to inspire the players to work hard for him, the fans and for each other on the pitch.

I do know that you can post endless threads about 'dressing room cancer' and players this and players and so on but if there is one absolute in life that is unavoidable and unanswerable it is this.

The man in charge is always to blame.

This may at times be unfair and you can always cite mitigating circumstances whether it is Pearce (no funds), Sven (underminded by Frank) or whoever but the manager is paid to take the kicking and carry the can when it goes wrong. Hughes is paid to manage this squad of players, get the best out of them and get results on the pitch. Hughes is paid to pick the team, decide on tactics and motivate them. If they are just not good enough well Hughes is paid to get the best he can from them or use them in a way that maximises their positives and masks their weaknesses. If they are stroppy types well boo hoo. Hughes is paid to manage all players whilst he has them and move them out when he has the opportunity.

Finally Hughes is paid to win football matches. No one is interested in him whining that the squad ain't good enough (like no shit sherlock and besides how good does it have to be to beat Notts f**king Forest?) or that he needs three years to get 5th place. Hughes like every other manager is paid to win matches and thats it. The End. Full Stop.

Well that is our squad. They are in the team or on the bench week in week out and make appearances.

Including starts and sub Appearances.

Fernandes-21 appearances
Hamann-17 Apps
Ball-12 Apps
Vassell-16 Apps
Ched- 15 Apps

Very much apart of our first team squad. All Championship players at best IMO. You never back down moomba, I don't expect you to here. But this is my opinion and one I am not shaking from,

i have answered that, No Hull do not have a better squad than us.

In principal i think you are right, the mitigating circumstances are significant though, and i doubt any manager of repute could gel that shower of spineless sh$te into a committed and capable team. Time is up for a core of this poor, poor squad.

Hughes needs time. I have confidence in him, with a team full of players he has brought in. One manager has to get the chance to do this- assemble his own squad, as KK and Royle did, otherwise we end up with a squad consisting of ex-manager's dregs in permanent limbo at the club.

This process takes time, and the never-ending calls for managers heads leaves us back in the 70s and 80s again. No thanks.

Elano tried more than most of the team yesterday. It's not their fault they have no tactics, nor direction from a management team who are just completely out of their depth.

Evil, you are spot on. We have to get a team that actually resembles a managers own. Keegan was the last time we had that. I am confident Hughes knows what players are right for us as well.

Not read all the thread yet but im trying to put myself into Michael Balls shoes at the start of the game yesterday. Fair enough the club have just bought the new signing to replace him long term and Im sure Ball is well prepared to expect to be dropped but to add insult to injury and bring him onto the pitch to receive the crowds applause and then follow it up with a half time interview on the big screens, well I think its possibly understandable that Ball didn't put a full shift in for the cause. Not saying its right but its human nature.

Now if Ball is happy to accept being second to Bridge then fine the above scenario doesn't come into it, but I doubt very much at his age he will be here much longer, therefore surely Hughes should have given the shirt to Garrido and tell him there's a future here behind Bridge as a squad member go out and play for the right to it.

add elano and didi hamman, dont think we dont know what you are doing.
you are a digrace to your proffession, have'nt got the balls to put it in for the fans.
you know the only chance you have at city is if the manager leaves before you do.
well i firmly hope you lose this battle and the club stand firm and rid us of you and the other cancers within the dressing room.

Would definitely agree on Ball, Hammann and Elano I though Dunnie put a shift in yesterday and I think Richards is suffering form a temporary lack of confidence

For the 1st 20 mins when SWP was on the pitch yes, he was at the heart of our play.

The whole team was set up for him. That was evident. Then the going got tough, and Elano did what he has done ever since he came to City.

The players that were left: Fernandes then Hamann, Vassell were not good enough to break down a massed defence...although for 15 mins after half-time they did give it a good go

Elano's conduct at MCFC has been a problem under 2 managers, and he also left Shakhtar Donetsk under a cloud.
