Richards Interview (The Sun With Quotes)

nope it's just my opinion.

The facts are there, if you're still going to argue otherwise then it just shows your looking for attention.

Fair enough - not sure there's been anything even the most insecure of supporters could consider to be "anti Mancini" in this thread. If anything, it's been a thread populated with vicious insults like '****' 'woman' and 'pussy' aimed at a player who's been with us since he was 15 and is actually a thoroughly decent lad who loves the club.

Yet you think there's an anti Mancini agenda at work. Makes no sense to me but hey ho....

Micah has been the best right back in the squad this season and as a result has started more games at right back than any other player and indeed captained the side against Juve.

So what exactly is his problem?

I realise he must be frustrated at missing games because he wants to play for England and Glen Johnson is well, pants, but is this really the way to go about it? I mean, has he not learned that barely a day goes by when that comic doesn't run a negative story about us?And that us fans get frustrated and angry when they do?

So in what way shape or form does Micah think that this going to help him or the club he says he loves?

Is Micah still represented by Max Clifford? Could explain a lot... and this is how I see it.

I think that this is Micah asking for a transfer without requesting it officially because he would lose out financially if he did. The window is open, he says his situation is 'unacceptable' and he knows that unless you an an exceptional talent (Tevez, Johnno) that Mancini won't hesitate in kicking you out the door. I am not saying it will happen in January but if the interest in Dani Alves -which Micah must know is real- I think like Ned he paved his way to the exit. That in my opinion is crass and underhand. If you want to go just say so.

It was in response to Rahart suggesting "mancini may not have been listening to him", when that's just unfair assumptions on the manager. Also there are several previously known to be "critical of Mancini" posters who are defending Micah whilst having a go at other posters and trying to generalise them all into a bracket which is quite unfair, as I don't see why continual digs about users being "paranoid of the media and critical opinions" is a) relevant to the thread b) nothing more than a cheap, unnecessary dig.

I wasn't aiming my response directly at you, but I will point out that Tevez withdrew his transfer request and is a City committed player, he got a hell of a lot of stick and still does off some people, but at the end of the day you have to back whichever players pull on the shirt in every match.

My point has been throughout this that Richards has no justification to his point about a lack of first team football, therefore there is some other underlying motive and if he wants to leave he can do.

People have every right to be annoyed at him, some have overreacted but this whole thing is ludicrous, and I guess people are fed up with these continual bullshit claims coming from a minority of our players which is creating unnecessary problems.

Hmmm...shall I back Micah Richards or Roberto Mancini here.

What a tough decision, bye Micah

To paraphrase Mancini, if these 'problems' lead to us sitting second in the league, long may they continue.

Regarding the rest of your post...the fact is that a lot of people react to the poster rather than what that poster has posted. I don't think there's anyone saying "it's a good thing Micah's spoken to the press" - they're just saying that the abuse being aimed at him (and the abuse aimed it Tevez) is completely unnecessary as dealing with the press is part and parcel of life at the sharp end of premiership football, and players wanting to leave because they want to play more is fair enough...

You say Micah's played 19 games this season - but that stat alone doesn't tell the whole story. Boateng spent a lot of the beginning of this season injured, but since he's gotten fit, Micah's appearances in the league (which lets face it, is what all the players want to play in) have been sporadic. Plus he's competing with two other players, one of whom was signed by Mancini, for his place. Prior to Arsenal he hadn't started a league match since the Stoke game, in which he scored a cracking goal. That was back in November.

It's just my opinion, but there seems to be a massive disconnect between supporters expectations of players, and the reality of being a player at City these days...

He is absolutely right
He is currently so much better than boetang, he should be apart of the spine of the team like Kompany and Hart

seriously?????? You think Micah Richards can be the part of the spine of this team. if Micah hadn't have come from the academy he would have been kicked out years ago. the only improvement there has been in this gobshite is that he now sometimes tries to get back into position when he loses the ball. milliner covered his ass on munerous occasions. to be honest I am chuffed he did this as I have wanted to see the back of him for two years. every time he has a half decent game he thinks he is a superstar. Zab is twice the player and as for the pace
thing Micah never used it he just grabs a hold of the opposing jersey and gives away a penalty or barges trough a player ala Bent in the Sunderland game.

He is a clueless Cnut.

Micah should rot on the bench for a good while after this interview. His early England caps went right to his head. He has to learn to work for the club first, and the national team will come later.

The way he makes it sound is that he'd be glad to wind up in a mid-table team just to play for England. If I were him, I'd be more content in playing a smaller role in a team that'll win a trophy instead of playing a major role on a crap team.

On a different note, it'd be hilarious if Mancini started giving SWP and AJ more playing time after this interview.

So he'll sit alongside Tevez is it? By all rights, by the way you're talking, if Richards was bad and should rot on the bench, Tevez should rot in reseves.
Right?
No the big difference is that tevez didn't go about things in a snide underhand way by going to the press to complain about the manager, he was big enough to go to the club and ask for a transfer, didn't like it but at least it was the most open and honest way it could have been done. Richards has seen the way the press have twisted things and the squad know it as kompany has alluded to in the past. He has had words with the manager about his situation and should have left it at that. If he wasn't happy at his role at the club he should have asked for a transfer not gone to the press and brought up other peoples names. Alot of more experienced players ala vierea rsc lescott have all been left on the bench for long periods and not complained to the press and have maybe aired there point with the manager. Johnson tried the same tact earlier in the season and got abuse for it as well but came out apologised and all was forgiven and forgotten imo Micah should do the same and he should receive the same treatment.
