Richards Interview (The Sun With Quotes)

But you can also see Richards point of view....Im performing better than this guy, why is he playing ahead of me?

Like I've already said I can understand why he wants out. Boateng needs game time though and it's hardly like Micah has made the position his.
Micah has had plenty of opportunity to shine and only has himself to blame for not becoming a regular starter.

exactly, and if Micah had been arsed over the past 3 years then we probably wouldn't have needed to sign Boateng or Lescott etc., it's his own fault he now has too much competition.

I'd say to Micah, 'I'll give you a run in the side, make the spot yours'. That way, we either have a potentially great player in our side, or, we drop him to the bench, but this way he has less reason to complain. I can understand how he's annoyed about the constant chopping and changing in that position, none of them will play at their best if he keeps doing that. E.g He did well against Villa and then was dropped against Blackpool. Why? Can't see how that benefits us as a team. Not as if he needed a rest.

Also, if he does go, I could see him being great somewhere else, establishing himself as England's first choice right back and possibly the best right back in the league.

Cogently Expressed!

He wants to play for England.
He doesn't want to 'rot on the bench'.
Thats why he needs to be selected & be given the opportunity consistently not sporadically.

Whats wrong with saying that in public (after going private tete-a-tete with City & England's managers)?
IMHO He has gone about it right.

Micah is cognizant of his worth & great performances, especially against the gunners, to City. To play effectively against the likes of Clichy, Nasri, van Pussy et al make me realize that he has the wherewithal (mental & physical talents) to be a great player. He is a real threat going forward at the same time hemming in their wing back.

The back four we had against the gunners IMHO is the best defensive core in the PL right now. Don't tinker with it!

Zab is a great utility player.. Right now he should be utilized on the left side.

OTH de Jong is found wanting & exposed defensively by the nifty & skilled gunners. Just imagine against the likes of CL teams. He is not CL material. A holding midfielder also needs to hold the ball at times rather than dishing the ball away everytime he receives the ball. Thats why he gets a below team average mark by most football pundits for the recent match.

Micah may not be the sharpest tool on the squad but at least I can claim that he is smart enough to be cognizant of the need to realize his ambitions & goals. Give him credit!

I can't say for some of the negative (especially 1 liner obscened-laced tirade) comments by some of us here who IMHO are the dullest twits in this shelter of the forum! And they are the dogs who hounded at Micah for Etherington's equalizer. Micah should be lauded for his heroic goal then but typical Pavlovian response eh?

BTW which current City defender has the most goals recently?

What's wrong with going to Custis and the shittest tabloid of them all for a public whinge about your situation, and thus give them yet more ammunition to fire at us with twisted negatives?
Are you taking the piss?

Good post. Pavlovian is bang on

He can fuck off as with any of the other academy lads who think that we owe them something because they "helped" us out when we were average and skint.

I always thought he wasn't the brightest lad so it doesn't suprise me that he has to go public with this and bring other players into it like Onouha did last May.

He talks about behaving differently and having a fresher more mature attitude from when he first got in the England squad and yet here he is yet again getting ahead of himself the minute he is involved with the England camp.

He wants to leave City? Fine, he's a decent squad player for us who can come in and do a job when the people who he is behind aren't playing. He's deluded aswell, once he leaves City does he think he will go to another top club?

And finally all that bullshit on this thread

"he's blue through and through"
"he loves this club"

He's a Arsenal fan from Leeds who wants to leave us because he puts Country before Club despite playing alot of games so far.

Micah you are an athlete and always have been and the reason you are back in the England squad is not because you are a talented young footballer but because Glen Johnson who is the worst full back to ever pull on the three lions shirt is the only right back in this country and that tells you alot about Micah Richards when Glen Johnson is indispensable in his position.

Ireland, Richards, Onouha all slagged the club off and washed their dirty linen in the public when there was no need because the club is leaving them behind. The whole lot can fuck off, academy graduates or not.

Been thinking about this all day and it's had me puzzled. Plenty of players play for England who don't play regularly for their clubs. Lescott did, SWP does, Wes Brown & Ratface, Foster, Joe Cole etc.

From my dealings with the media, I know there is always an ulterior motive behind stories and you have to be careful not to take things at face value. Players also don't usually give interviews without the club knowing about it or being involved. That's why Vicky Kloss is always in the tunnel at the end of games to keep an eye on things. Papers also have no scruples about making out they've interviewed a player when they haven't, having got the quotes from other media sources or even private conversations (e.g,. Micah talks to someone privately and that someone goes to the papers).

So what's behind this one? I struggled to see it until I thought about Hiddink's revelations that he'd been approached by us. These just happened to surface when Hughes and then Mancini were under pressure. I've said before that i believe Abramovich was behind this with the intention of destabilising the club.

My view is that Capello has leaked this story for the same reason, someone having put him up to it or maybe he just fancies the City job and sees this sort of thing as a way of pulling the rug from under Mancini. So let's not be too quick to judge Micah here.

i totally trust bobby to deal with this, he only wants players who are totally commited to what he wants and if your not happy then its bye bye. it pains me to say it but i can see a lot of bacon face in the way he deals with players speaking out of turn, he wont let anyone get in the way of what he wants to do and richards will be lucky to come back from this, just ask ade and he cost 25mil.bobby dont suffer fools!!

Bit Mulder and Scully to think Capello is behind this! I just think that he is a deluded young man who thinks he is better than he is and has been egged on by his agent. I wonder how many years he has left on his contract?
