I don't mean to say there is a conspiracy- it was a genuine inquiry- is Capello putting pressure on players of other clubs as he appears to be here (and they are staying quiet), or are his selections based on hype and not form as some would suggest.

Got you.

It's a decent question; i wonder if its more a case of him saying (as i think he has publically) "play for your club or you won't play for your country".

Of course Capello then picks Wes Brown, Michael Carrick etc after they've not seen first team action for months.

If he is putting pressure on them, then they're mugs for buying into it. You'll get much more out of football by doing it at club level these days than you will at international level. More than that he's our player, not England's to dictate to.

Exactly, though they aren't the only ones either.

And, exactly.

It'd be nice to read a debate thread where the actual content of the thread is discusted as opposed to people's intelligence.

But then i am a simpleton with simple joys.

The brainless ones shot their bolt earlier in the thread with their "Richards U can fuk off u ****" posts. Now it's a decent debate.

I love the way you judge Boateng as not being good enough long term but think Micah is. Yet Micah was awful for 18 months and we stuck by him. Boateng hasn't even got 15 matches under his belt in the Prem, is young and adapting to a new league and country and was voted best defender in Germany last year and did well played out of position in the world cup.

Amazing but expected I guess.

Nothing amazing about it. Boateng has said repeatedly he's a centre half and that's where he wants to play. His performances so far this season haven't really caught the eye as such. I realize he's in a new league, and there's plenty of time for him to improve. Maybe by the end of the season he'll have established himself as first choice. It's just my opinion that ultimately him and Zaba won't be good enough.

I didn't say Micah was good enough - I said it'd be a shame for him to leave. There's a subtle difference there which I think even you can grasp.

Nice little dig in at the end there.

It would be a shame for him to leave I agree but no one is forcing him out are they. So I won't cry if he forces a move.

Boateng may say he is a centre back but Kompany was still saying in the summer that he was a midfielder. Players don't always know their best positions. Boateng can defend and offers a different dimension to Micah (which may become important now we have an attacker that is not a midget and will actually position himself IN the box), which is to be able to cross a ball. Micah has never had that attribute and he is now old enough to have learnt.

I would like to ask Micah a few questions

1. Do you want to play for a top club ?

2. If you do where do you think you can go with guaranteed football every week ?

If you don't then good luck at Villa/Bolton/Brum wherever

3. Where do you think you can go and earn what you will at City ?

4. Where can you go and win more medals than you will at City ?

Micah you need to think a little more and talk a little less. If Mancini has told you that you are in his plans be happy, work hard and be grateful that you are priveleged to play for one of the greatest clubs in the world.

Do not listen to Capello. He has his own agenda and will not be England Manager for too much longer.

Micah the grass is seldom greener. Wake up and realise that you are truly blessed.

Micah will never be good enough to guarantee a slot at City, being raped repeatedly by a geriatric Giggs should be reason enough.

The only brainless one is Micah, simple as.

At the end of the day I don't want anybody here who can't respect the manager, keep their head down and get on with it especially when there's nothing to complain about, and when they're being a lowlife **** and bringing an England team he didn't give a shit about for 3 years when he was playing crap and bringing teammates into it, one of whom has played quite a bit recently.

Stats: Micah Richards games:17(2), goals 1.
Pablo Zabaleta games: 24(4), goals 1.
Jerome Boateng games 15(2), goals 0.

How he can complain, well he can't.

Unfortunately for Micah, there isn't a parallel universe out there where 99% of blues wouldn't take Zab over him as a starter (and I speak for 99% of blues out there ;)

Good luck to you kiddo, I wish you all the best wherever you end up.

Yet another overpaid footballer who cant keep his gob shut, anybody who thinks Micah should be starting ahead of Zaba knows fuck all about football.

If any City player should be complaining about lesser players being picked ahead of him, its Zaba but he wont because he is a pro.

There have been loads of threads asking "what do we need" and as well as saying a starting striker, two bench strikers, a starting midfielder in the same mold as Silva and a dominant hard man central defender; I've also said we need squad players like Zabaleta.

Players who will do as they're told when they're told. They'll play wherever they're told to and put in a 100% shift no matter what. Then if they're on the bench next week, they don't complain. Ultimate squad players. United have always had them under Fergie. They know their role and stick to the plan.

In the thread praising Micah I said I am enthused about his form and focus this season, but he's come out with this and the worst bit is that it's too the Sun (the scummiest paper going!).

Doo doo doo Pablo Zabaleta
Doo doo doo Pascal Zabaleta!

I can understand his frustration but going to the press, especially The Sun, was a bit silly. I'd be surprised if he is still here at the start of next season. A shame as he has potential.

Much improved and getting games. So a big no-need to go whinging to the press Micah and especially to involve other team mates. And the Sun ?![spit]. Show some class lad.

I can only assume that someone is in for him and this is agent games. Now who out there not very far away really needs a new RB????!!!

Perhaps Spurs would like to replace Hutton?

Sell Micah in the summer and bring through Kieran Trippier who has been pulling up trees at Barnsley this season.

he's 5'11 same as Micah
he's fast as fook same as Micah

However he also has very good technical skills, which was proven on the Football League Show at the weekend where he put in a great ball for one of their strikers to head in.

I have never seen Micah float in a lovely ball for one of our players to nod home.

If he wants to go and play every week somewhere then fair enough, in fact I'll drive him!

Why he needs to go to the papers AFTER he spoke to the manager is beyond me

He should have been sold 2/3yrs ago, he should have never wore a City shirt again after his 'performance' in the 4-3 defeat at Old Trafford.

Who does he think wants to buy him? Utd? Chelsea? He said in the article 'I know my own ability' the trouble for him is that so does everyone else and that's why he'll end up at a mid-table team and probably in the Championship in 3/4yrs, probably with the mid-table team he joins thanks to his 'ability' and wonderful concentration

I may be well off the mark but perhaps he has spoken to the manager and has been told "sorry son your not good enough, go to the press to arrange some interest in a transfer"

It could well have been a club sanctioned interview
