Richards

Debates on the merits of individual players used to be carried out in the pub before and after the game. These would be private chats between mates over a few pints. Then along came the interweb and anyone with a pc could air their views. The whole world, and the players in question, can now 'listen in'.
It's not unthinkable that Richards/Dunne/Ireland/SWP or any other young footballer with time on their hands will search the web on thier diamond encrusted mac's after a game to see what is being said about them.
After giving his all in a great game i wonder how Richards will feel seeing his name and ability dragged through the mud by so called City 'fans'.
A quick look at the forum and i see a ten page thread where most of the posts are negative. Yet there is only two pages giving Bellamy the praise he deserves. Too my mind that is fucked-up.
After a performance like yesterdays i really can't see what motivates someone to log-on and single out a player in what is a team game. It seems that some posters can't wait to tell the world how shit one of our own is.

you however seem to think it is ok to launch a personnel attck on people who don't agree with you own little view .

bet you were not so keen to do that if you were facing them in a pub you absolute wankstain

I'm no expert but shouldn't 'wankstain' be hyphonated ?

Get Zab in ffs, I wish some of the players showed the same passion as the fans.

Think back a short distance to Portsmouth, when Richards had gone off, ball lands between him and Nugent, Zab ends up completely lost and Nugent has an open goal.
Good job it was Nugent.

we have not got a decent right back at the club and i'm sure hughes will make it his top priority in jan but richards has been a lot better this season can't just blame him for yesterday we were totally in contol of that game at half time and just let them get a foot hold in the match if your gonna single players out what about barry ireland lescott they all had shockers yesterday and the team just did'nt believe that they could win at the swamp it's somethink that needs drilling into the players

Good post same could have been said about Bridge in the first ten minutes looked nervous as hell and kept giving the ball away inviting on pressure!

the only way we can resolve our right back problem is to move toure there and get kompany in at centrehalf, dont think zabba is the answer lack of pace and nedum is a centre half, makes as many errors as richards at right back, taggert targeted richards second half got giggs to play really wide and tried to isolate richards which he did, this is were the problems started and it allowed utd to get a foothold in the game

Richards is the weak link in defence.....gives away far too many free kicks for my liking by doing stupid things like shirt grabbing. Also doesnt pay attention half the time. He was asleep for Evra's run for the first goal and out of position for their winner.

Did he carry on giving the ball away? If the answer to that question is 'No' then it heavilly suggests something poignant to this thread.

watched the last 12 mins on sky plus and paused it just as the ball was passed to Owen....Could barely see Micah....and when I did he was miles away....Irregardless to any form prior to this I will never forgive him.

Give Zab a run til January then decide if we need two new full backs not just one. I very rarely pick out individuals but Bridge and Richards are a million miles from the quality of the rest of the squad and are shown up week in week out

I think this is a difficult one for MH, givan that Micah has all of the physical atributes needed and the potential to become a top right back, Hughes needs to try to nurture him through this difficult patch, however this can't be at the expense of the result.

it may be that MH sat Micah down at the start of the season and told him to forget about being a centre half as Toure, Lescott and Ned would all be picked before him. he may have told Micah as far as right back goes you're my main man and go out and prove it. if this is the case and he has given Micah his full backing it would be tough to drop him like a stone.

Players wwill never settle if they a scared to death about making a mistake but they also can't be allowed to take the piss with their performances either, the purpose of havng a squad like ours is for competition for places. i have been and continue to be be a supporter of Micahs but i have to admit to being alarmed at he way our right back position was so exposed yesterday.

Does anyone know if we have specific defensive coaches at the club, the reason i ask is simple, given the resourses we have why would we not have specialised training staff who are experts in the defensive art. the pundits like Hanson and Dixon can spot the problems a mile off but they know exactly what they are looking for. are our coaching staff of the same level of experience and knowledge?

before anyone starts i'm not for one minute saying go and get Hanson or Dixon.

Looking at his face, I thought that Richards 'lost it' mentally right at the start and never got it back. A liability all through.
