What is it 12 years service at the club, remember him scoring that equaliser against Villa, doesn't seem like yesterday. When he was fit he was an absolute gem of a player. I really do wish him well and I hope he can regain the form that had him in Englands team, a new start maybe, what he really needs and maybe having a few ex city players at Sunderland will make it home from home. My only regret is that there were signs a couple of seasons back he could have gone on and finished his career at City as one of our own. Unfortunately whether through injury or otherwise it hasn't worked out for him but that should not detract from the service he has given our club and the knockers on here need to give their heads a wobble. I simply wish him well he will be missed by me anyway.

Would love him to get himself sorted out as he would be a great asset to the squad if he did.

He seems to have accepted things,I hope he does not look back and have any regrets when hes older.I dont mean finance, playing,he wont realise it at the moment but you never get your youth back.

Seems a very decent lad, signed every autograph request after the game when I took my lad up to Hearts,I know its just a small thing but important in my book.

Good luck for the future Micah.

Big buzz on Sunderland boards yesterday that he was on the way to them. A couple of their ITKs saying pulled because of £5m asking price and interest from Spain and Italy. Fans of forum seemed to think 5m a bargain!

I think that he could make a good job as a CB, but with mangala's signing...
it seems that he is going to leave the club, and i feel a bit sad for that, because he feels the club more than the anyone

Looking forward to seeing the joker go .
Richards as done well for us in the past .
And I think back to 2007-2008 season he was are best player that season .
But we have moved on from then .

peoples disrespect to a player who has given us good service from such a young age is astounding. If you are not rags then you are certainly acting like them.

Micah is still a good right back and could easily do a good job for someone in the premiership.

Is your name Txiki :)

Ok he is probably available for 5mill - name me 15 right backs that are better than him in the prem - assuming he stays reasonably fit which is a lot more likely if he is playing every week.

He doesn't play because he can't stay fit, which is the main problem. £5m is a bargain for the player he was, but a risk with his injury record. More of a problem is the wages, especially if he's expecting to keep being paid at that level

Honestly, Richards need to understand it is in his best interest to rebuild his career somewhere else. If he stays at City he will only be used for a few domestic cupgames unless there's an injurycrisis in the backline. We all know he loves City and from an emotional point of view we all love him, but his progress has been at a standstill since two years (either by injury or lack of class) where the team has moved foreward.

He needs to take a step back in quality around him and in salary. He's young enough to do that. Than maybe he can saty fit, play regular football and get on the upwards curve. I hope he goes for the sake of the player, and I hope he succeeds wherever he goes. Staying at City would be a big mistake by Richards and he needs to let go.

I'm not sure that he's on such a huge wage Really don't know, but the contract details for Silva and Kompany were reported as £130k pw & £120k pw plus incentives. OK those are big numbers but not in the Rooney and RVP league, and I doubt his wage is out of the question for established Premiership clubs. Even if he has to take a pay cut, he'd be better off financially in the long term.

I've got no desire to see him go. It will be a sad day if he does, but I don't like to see him waste his talent either. Maybe he thinks if he gets his head down and works really hard this season he can still make an impact but it seems unlikely that he'd get many opportunities

IMO £130k for Silva who is a world class playmaker and would walk in to any starting eleven in the world is not a big number. And £120k for world class defender again is not big wages.

Compare that to Richards' £72k per week wages. Richards earns too much compared to his ability IMO. Thats why I guess there hasn't been a queue of takers for him because nobody wants to pay him that much. Probably has to take £20k - £30k wage cut if he wants to move.
