This might sound sick but, I'm worried he might spiral now and kill himself. Extreme, I know, but I'm genuinely worried he might do it....

He's had his problems but thousands of others have the same issues up and down the country. I doubt he's any more of a suicide case than most people that have their ups and downs.

Problem is whatever bar or pub he walks into now, there'll be a queue of people with the best of intentions, willing to buy him a pint.

He's probably going to retire properly now, and that's when he needs the people around him to look after him.

He's got two kids and a lovely missus all he needs to do is walk into his kids bedrooms and look at them sleeping and he wont do that.

Didn't stop my Cousin. People of that mental state feel their family would've been better off without them.

Having his own Gym, training Boxers, managing Boxers, doing Pundit work and perhaps some Charity stuff too (a Sports Foundation or something) should keep him busy. I'll be very surprised if he boxes again as defeats to Mayweather, Pacquiao and now Senchenko should tell him he's not the best in the world.

He's only got himself to blame, IMHO. Putting on so much weight during the gap between bouts was stupid. He insists on being one of the Lads but he's got a lifetime of retirement to eat and drink. He should've been 100% committed to Boxing during his career yet he's equally well known for that display at City Square where he was off his face or the newspaper pictures of him hitting the white line.

Congratulations to Senchenko for getting over the crowd bias and doing his job.

harsh

he is who he is and that's why most of us loved him

you can keep your robot fighters with no personality

My concern for the guy is he has never been able to cope with defeat.
I live very near to him and he just wants to be adored by his fans and his way of repaying their faith is with victories.
Defeat hits him so hard and he feels he's let his fans down. It's all he talks about in any interviews. It's genuine.
The question will be how does he get over this, cos their can't be any more fights.

Whatever he does,he has represented City and City fans better than anybody i can think of right now....ok apart from lakey. But away from football he has been the best.
Top bloke and always available for a chinwag.
Wish him all the best and hope we see him with a big smile on his face at city soon.

I'd pretty much pay to see him to fight a bum of the month for a few quid. Ricky was always less about the sport and more about seeing one of our own in the ring. His support is immense and his legacy cannot be tarnished. Boxing is now entertainment, and I love nothing more than sitting down with a few mates and watching Ricky in Manchester.
