Ridiculous things from City's history

At a supporters club meeting in the 90's, Mal told us he made a bid of £400k, Wolves said no. He went on holiday and came back to the news that Swales had increased our offer.... To a transfer record!

Story from a very reliable source once told me Wolves had told Daley he could leave as soon as we upped our bid to £750k, and Daley confirmed that a few years ago - and that he'd got a 10 year contract that basically would keep him with us to the end of his career. How that got up to the best part of £1.5m is anyone's guess....

Long before my time but wasn't there a story about Alan Ogley, City's myopic GK in the 1960s, playing in a pea souper at Maine Road and still stood out on the pitch long after everyone else had disappeared down the tunnel for the HT break, totally oblivious.

Losing to this Arsenal side in the FA Cup Semi is fucking up there with the worst of 'em.
