Right back options……

He is abs terrible though! Close to awful for me, only slightly better than Emerson Royal who was the worst top level right back in the prem in a long time. Would not touch this guy with a barge pole.
All about opinions.

In the game in October at Molineux, Doku got precious little out of him and Grealish was blunted as well. He also set up their goal and almost scored himself when he cut through us up the middle of the pitch. Similarly, in the game at Molineux last season, he gave Neto the base to rip us apart down their right, and it was Semedo that was instrumental in getting forward to cross for their winner. I think he could do a trick because he can sit and play defensively, giving Savinho security and freedom, or attack in the final third along with Bernardo.

In the last season, Semedo's also worked his way back into the what is a highly talented Portuguese national side, something which would be hard to do if he'd been as terrible as you state.

In the winter window there will be precious few alternatives, so by my yardstick he'd be sensible stocking filler just now, but I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

For me the answer is Akanji. He’s defensively sound, we’ve seen him step into midfield so he can play the inverted role, he’s not going to bomb up and down a la Walker, but when Gvardiol does it from the left he can split with the two centre backs and become a back three.

All the pieces fit for me, and there really isn’t a better alternative out there as far as I can see.
I agree with this but, as two of our centre backs are injured often as not, he is going to be needed at centre back. I guess the question is whether we sign a specialist full back or another versatile centre back.

It’s not only a question of our injured centre backs, however, but how much longer the others can last as well. Guardiola intimated last night that Akanji has now been playing through injury for over a month, so adding extra work on his shoulders would be folly. Even if there is an upswing in results between now and Christmas, I hope they don’t think everything is alright and that there is no need to add in the window. The effects of recent weeks will inevitably exact a toll later in the season, just like last year, so it would be deeply frustrating if we somehow reel Liverpool in but then allow them to escape because we’ve run out of puff.

Not sure if we have the option but maybe we could cut Kabore's loan at Benfica? I don't think he's played a lot there which obviously isn't a great sign, but the way our players are falling like flies we just need bodies. Considering we are down to 2 senior CB's right now and the only others are Walker pushing in (!) or Simpson-Pusey, and we are most likely going to need Rico to fill in at left back, we need someone.

There was talk Benfica wanted to send him back.
Not sure if they can actually do that?

if the clubs agree. Yes.

not sure he solves anything for us other than being a body, can't play CM or CB which we ask the RB to do in any system so far.

An option and an extra body.
He can run all day and is very fast.
Pep may not see him as a top player but "beggars can't be choosers" at the moment.

explain how the fact that he isn't good enough for benfica would be good enough for PL? class RB should be a priority, ideally in january

I suppose he is our player and the only cost to us is the loss of a loan fee.
He wouldn't be a long term solution but may be an addition to our squad for the second half of the season.
The ideal situation is buying a top player in January
