I have fond memories as a kid, watching him read George's Marvellous Medicine on Jackanory - he was miles better than the usual, boring people who they usually used.

Sat here watching Bottom on Netflix, grew up withe Rik and Ade as my comedy heros and always held out hope that they may do another live tour of Bottom.

Hard to believe he has gone.

I hope they have a rik mayall marathon on BBC. All the shows he has been in. Would be good to watch. I used to love bottom when I was younger.

when i heard the news about Rik Mayall,
it actually stopped me in my tracks.
Gutted and sad.is an understatement.
grew up ,like many watching,him and ade, and the crew in
'the tube',
'comic strip presents'
the young ones,
Blackadder and bottom.
to name a few.

feel so sorry for his wife,children .
