RIP Bobby Ball

Sad to hear he has died, but I never got them. I agreed with Manning when he described them as "a unique double act, two straight men." I did think he was a much better actor, in fact he was really good. So RIP Bobby.

Very sad news. Grew up on these guys and thought they where brilliant at the time.

"Rock on Tommy"

Feel sure I saw them at the Talk of the North in Patricroft back in the early 80s,funny act in their day and hugely popular tv show.RIP Bobby rock on

I always had a soft spot for Bobby, whether as a comic or actor.
Always came across as a genuinely nice guy (someone's now going to tell me he's a Rag).

RIP

I can't find anything to confirm that he was even into football ..... i know Tommy Cannon was chairman of Rochdale until the late eighties , but i can't find anything to link Bobby Ball with City , or any other club.

I could be wrong though.

Maybe Cannon and Ball played the old City social club in the 60's/70's at Maine Road whilst they were on the club circuit ???

Funny guy his family must be devastated. his wife called him mischievous which in my mind suits his personality perfectly.

I saw em in 80 aswell on the North Pier, Maggie Moon on the bill aswell from Name That Tune, even bought some Rock On Tommy braces, RIP cocker, you were quality Bobby.
Knew there was someone else along with them but couldn't remember who it was. Think I have still have ticket stub in the loft somewhere. Seemed to remember Maggie being quite attractive so can't understand why I forgot about her. Must be an age thing.

He went through a stage of being a very unpleasant man actually and was by his own admission completely up his own arse and Tommy his sidekick did not speak to him for 3 years even when they were at their peak fame. He changed and they became great friends again.
He went in the celeb jungle and redeemed himself
