RIP Columbo

Anyone seen this? Peter Falk as Columbo at Frank Sinatra's roast in '77. The guy never breaks character and does much of the bit off the cuff.

There must be a strong case for a re-run or two on daytime TV.

In one of the very early episodes I recall that he loses his temper when confronting and uncovering the culprit. Unheard of on any other occasion - and very powerful as a result. Can anyone confirm or refute that?

Plus Falk was great in a stellar cast in it's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World.

As others have suggested, a bit of niceness has disappeared.

Used to be class when he pulled a boiled egg out of his pocket and sprinkle a bit of salt on it.

Still being regularly shown on Sundays. Ever seen the one with Johnny Cash playing a sort of lecherous, homicidal version of himself? It was on not long ago, me and The Mighty Quinn had a thread going discussing its merits.

Yeah, it's a classic. As is the one with Leslie Nielsen.
