Yes very popular. From memory bit after TC, Spiderman (Ian Mellor) then Tony Towers filled in before Dennis TueartSuperb skills. I was very young but remember. RIP
very similar to me and my mates verdict, until, well after he played his last game for us, he turned out in a charity match for ( i think) a Freddie Pye all-star game. Most of us "just in case subs" were taken aback by his pace, from the Kippax he looked and was slow, but against us amateurs, no way.He was a bit of a cult figure with me and my mates for a very short time. I remember him as very skilful but very slow - and very popular.
