RIP Gary Shaw.

He lived the dream - a Villa apprentice who lifted the league and European Cup trophies for his boyhood club, won PFA young player and European young player of the year, all before he turned 23. A bad knee injury destroyed what would have been a top level career. A really lovely guy who by all accounts loved his life and lived every day with a smile on his face. If only we all could.

RIP Gary.

As many have said he was quite the player and 63 is no age at all (my age).

With the exception of Red Scouse and that shit lot down the road I have never really not supported English teams in Europe and to a degree still do today... even Chelski and Spuds...#

I'll always remember....

Gary, Gary Shaw,
When he gets the ball he scores a goal

Very fond memories.

Thanks a lot for the comments guys. To me, and many Villa from my era Gary was a childhood hero.

We all wanted wedge haircuts, the girls all used to fancy him at school.

He loved a party, he was still so down to earth and you'd always see him in bars around town.

When he gets the ball he's bound to score.....
