RIP John Prescott

You always knew what he believed in and he wasnt afraid of saying it, even if you didn't agree that's a diminishing quality in a politician these days.

A good innings which is all you can ask for really.

and frankly the bad bit - the dementia - was not drawn out too long - its like would you want to score a ton like Chris Tavere or like Ben Stokes?
 
Prescott gave us the revived Welsh Highland Railway, against the wishes of numerous Nimbys, including the National Park. For that alone, he will always be a hero to me.
His map for the Channel Tunnel had train lines running direct from Paris to Manchester - with a branch to Hull!
