Not unexpected but still very sad news. Made me cry as a kid in 70 when I didn't understand he was the greatest. A giant has left us, RIP sir

How on earth can The Sun run with the false headline The King Is Dead? We almost had a heart attack given the recent death of Her Majesty. Hopefully that rag of a newspaper will get heavily fined.

I remember watching the World Cup in 1970 and that fantastic Brazil team..and Pele was brilliant

Upsetting to hear.

He is Brazilian football.

Heard his legend, watched his highlights, left open-mouthed by his majesty on the pitch.

What a privilege it must have been to see Pele play live in the flesh.

Messi recently ascended to the highest level but Pele reached that summit first and they stand alone with Maradona as the greatest players to control a football.
