Well he'll start ahead of Sané next time round after tonight.Bit strange he cannot start PL game anymore. Maybe Sunday is the day. But is he doing everything in trainings? to get picked before Sane,, Sterling etc.
Or at least he should.

Perhaps Pep didn't think he was in good enough form to start the games you mentioned or come on as a sub and change it. You cant have it both ways surely? Either way you look at it most fans I speak to think he has been largely disappointing since he joined. He needs to up his game considerably to get a start in this side. Very predictable when he plays at present.Nice. Some have found the permanent scapegoat.
Fact = he started vs Burnley and we won. He didn't start vs Newcastle and we lost. But, these are just boring facts. They don't count. Rather, slating Mahrez is kinda therapeutic.
When you come to think about it, Mahrez didn't even start against Crystal Palace, Leicester or Lyon (first leg). We lost in all of them. But, these are just nagging facts.
Yup - it's a huge adjustment for Mahrez. But he definitely has the talent to succeed and challenge for a regular starting spot. I think he'll do so.As we get closer to the business end of the season the ball is firmly in his court. Much like others in the past he has to perform to play. It is much different to the challenge he had at Leicester and I have yet to see the dynamic player we saw from afar two seasons ago. We are going for so many trophies there will be chances he just has to show he deserves a place in the first 11. He has the ability, no doubt, but for me he has often been too selfish and perhaps is trying too hard. We look far more balanced with Sterling, Sane & Bernardo in the team.
