Have absolutely no idea why he did start tonight. The only reason I can find is that Pep must be pissed of with Sane and therefor starting Mahrez. Wrong f*cking game to start two players (Delph) that have been shite all season and another one (Silva) that’s been poor for months.

A decision has to be made re Mahrez over the summer. From what I have seen he just simply isn’t good enough, slow and predictable. We had our arses tanned when we bought him.

Tracked back and defended well.

Basically the only positive to be offered from that showing, but I suppose it is something given that has also been an issue with him in past outings (among many others). Seems incapable of releasing the ball unless he’s done at least twelve step overs, though, which destroys the flow of our play. He most often just passes back to Walker or puts in a hopefully cross to no one in the box... or holds it far too long and gives it away.

Our only addition of the summer and looks to be well out of his depth in our system.
